Dogbrick (7634) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 3, 2008
Sample at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a ruby halo and a medium and creamy beige head that bubbles away steadily. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Light toasted malt and chocolate aroma. Medium, creamy body with flavors of dark chocolate and malt, as well as touches of coffee and hops. The finish is kind of thin and roasty with a light coffee aftertaste. Above average overall, but seems like it should be better.

tap at PP Carlsbad..... a dark brown pour with lighter brown hues at the edges that was adjoined by a thin light brown head..... very light and creamy, slightly roasted and chocalaty but it never seemed to deliver the goods. it wa sa little dull and watery overall.

On-tap PP Carlsbad. Terrific beer. Subdued nose of toasty malts. Pours dark brown/black with a thick creamy light brown head. Laces the entire glass all the way down. Tastes malty, with a hint of toastiness and chocolate. Somewhat watery but super smooth and silky. Low alcohol, great taste, great look, yum.

decaturstevo (4929) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - DEC 24, 2007
On tap at PPCB. A deep red brown pour that borders on black with a creamy tan head. Not much on the nose but that may be all me. Toasted malt and a hint of bitter on the finish. It almost has the back flavor of a machine made hot chocolate. No sweet, kinda dry. Mouthfeel and carbonation are good. It is a tad thin. A good dry stout easy to drink. No hints of abv makes me think it would be a good session beer. (I didn’t know it was 4.4%)

On tap at PP Carlsbad. Dark brown with red tint, tan head. Smoky aroms with dark malt and roasty. Light roast flavor, smoky, slight coffee, underwhelming. Light body, watery. Okay.

Tap @ O’Briens San Diego. Poured a deep chocolate brown, thin tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and caramel. Like the others said, a little boring.

Dark chocolate, mild black coffee, and medium hop bitterness, nothing in particular stood out about this stout. Opaque black, and too much carbonation. Milky tan head that persisted.

not bad, pours a dark black, very dry stout, reminded me of guiness, best feature was its smoothness

On tap at Pizza Port, Carlsbad. Pours beautifully. Very nice aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Silky light bodied palate. Taste of roasted malts dominates with hints of smokiness and chocolate in the background. A really good stout.
