Doctormirk (100), USA Apr 11, 2007 Black creamy micro bubble head. Smells of sweet fruit. Dry, bitter, muted and a bit oily. Huge lacing, lacking a bit in mouth feel, somewhat thin.
Brewsmith (82), Torrance, California, USA Nov 27, 2008 On tap at the brewery, on nitro. Aroma is like roasted coffee, maybe a hint of chocolate in there. Deep brown, almost black with a thick tan head, dense from the nitro. More coffee, dark chocolate flavors. Not overly roasty. Creamy with a light to medium body. On e of the best American made dry stouts I’ve had. Similar to guiness but a little more assertive all around. Very drinkable. Theis (2495), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 19, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008. Black - brown head. Lactose, thin body, dryness, burned, coffee, smokey, cocoa, chocolate, high malty. Nice again. alexanderj (1428), San Diego, California, USA Oct 20, 2008 On tap at Carlsbad location. Very nice looking pour; dark brown/black with a creamy tan head. ARoma of roasted malt and cocoa; some toffee. flavor was a bit watery. Roasted malt and cocoa with some of out of place meatiness. A bit watery and strange for the style. steview (810), Oceanside, California, USA Oct 19, 2008 Updated: Oct 20, 2008growler from Carlsbad: black, still body with small tan head and minimal lacing; light carbonation, thin palate; bittersweet and subtle, roasted--chocolate, coffee, plain toast, and water; nothing offensive, good... i like it warm... when it warms, it becomes this desert-like fruit juice (weird, but good). joergen (6821), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 17, 2008 Draught at GABF 2008.
