On tap at Blue Palms. Clear burgundy red with a medium tan head that dissipated quickly and left modest rings of lace. Solid malt, spices, and alcohol aromas are featured on the nose, with ripe dark fruit in the background. Flavors match, with lots of dark bread and a warming alcohol presence. Full bodied, medium body, and a pleasant sweetness throughout, start to finish.

27th May 2015: on tap at the Carlsbad Pizza Port. Amber to brown body, the head a small beige affair. Malty nose with the molasses giving off toffee and caramel aromas, these carried on into the taste which was sweet and malty also. Mild bitterness arrives mid-sip and stays to give the finish a better balance than the initial taste. I liked it.

Nice malty aroma of caramel and toffee. Pill owing head and lively co2 malt dominated some pleated malt around. Some bitterness. A solid four brew.

On tap at the Beer Baron. It pours a clear dark ruby color with a light tan head. The aroma has beautiful notes of chocolate covered cherries and rich, expressive maltiness. The flavor is the same. Lots of cherry, plum, fig and lightly spicy/menthol hops. A little cocoa and roasted malt underneath give some added depth. Medium bodied with a lightly acidic, fruity, toasted finish. Really great stuff.

Keg at PP Solano Beach, 14/11/14. Chestnut brown with beige edgeing. Nose is perfumed, sweet malt, toffee, light smoke, sprinkle of hoppage, candied fruit peel. Taste comprises candied orange peel, sweet licks, floral, toasted brown sugar, red grapefruit, canfy bar. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok Scotch affair if a little overly sweet.

"Not a standout within style, but its a pretty nice beer overall. Slight dark fruit, a good dose of maltiness, a slightly sticky medium-full body and very very slight peat.

Magenta and clear with little foam. Malty aroma and sweet caramel body. More like a porter than a scotch ale but still good.

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast, alcohol and hint of smoke. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, caramel and bread finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
