COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: previously brewed at Næstvedbryggeriet Føniks.

0.5 bottle. Black in color, head is tanned, medium-sized and quite retaining. Malty aroma, mostly dark dessert chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and some dark bread together with caramel. Malty bittersweet taste, coffee and chocolate predominate the sensation, balanced and not obtrusive, somewhat woody, very pleasant. Body is between medium and full, texture slick but at the same time somewhat oily. Carbonation is very soft on its way to flat. Finish is balanced and follows the taste although regrettably it is kind of watery and soft. All in all it is a great brew with only minor flaws, worth recommending.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 Sample at Copenhagen Beer Festival 2012. I admit the name is the main reason that I want to import this beer to Norway, but the Kakerlakpuler stout is decent enough in its own right. Fairly sweet and moderately roasty stout, notes of mild coffee, caramel, chocolate and liquorice. Smooth to drink.
