Benzai (8227) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 17, 2014
Cask @ Egham Beer Festival. Opaque dark brown to black color, small off-white to beige head. Smell and taste malts, loads of liquorice, some kind of herb or spice, lightly roasty, lightly bitter. Average body and carbonation. Decent, but just too much liquorice for me to really like it.

Cask Maggie. Port chocolate noes. Beige and black liquid. Rich port notes with basic stout base. Not bad session stout

berkshirejohn (4530) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2014
Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. Coal black with a ring of tan head; aroma of chocolate and mollases; fruity taste with a milky, drinking chocolate body; and a dry lactic finish with a lasting gentle chocolate bitterness. A "port stout" according to the pump clip, but lacking in the port department.

BeerViking (2472) - Brentford, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2013
Cask at the Magpie, pours near black with a fast settling fine beige head. Port, vine fruits and a faint tang of cocoa on the nose, palate is juicy-dry, with light roast malt, winey notes and more dry cocoa. Dry and gently bitter finish.

prawlie (1141) - Berkshire, ENGLAND - SEP 11, 2013
Pint at the Alehouse in Reading. Black with yellow-brown head that doesn’t linger, gassy. Chocolate malt aroma. Dry and tangy hops (fuggles?) taste with roast in the aftertaste. Not the greatest stout I’ve had.

Grumbo (596) - Suffolk, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2013
Cask handpull at the Bridge Inn, Bristol. Port stout. Deep black in colour, with a coffee colour head. Plumb and roasted chocolate aroma, with a very subtle flavour. Silky smooth texture the highlight of this rather nice beer.

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 8/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 15/20
Svesse (6157) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - MAR 3, 2013
(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread and hints of ashes. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, coffee, dark rye bread and a fairly dry finish with a generous roasty bitterness. Medium body, mainly dry. Highly drinkable and very nice.
