berkshirejohn (4381) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2014
Cask at the Bird in Hand, Knowl Hill. Coal black with a ring of tan head; aroma of chocolate and mollases; fruity taste with a milky, drinking chocolate body; and a dry lactic finish with a lasting gentle chocolate bitterness. A "port stout" according to the pump clip, but lacking in the port department.

Pint at the Alehouse in Reading. Black with yellow-brown head that doesn’t linger, gassy. Chocolate malt aroma. Dry and tangy hops (fuggles?) taste with roast in the aftertaste. Not the greatest stout I’ve had.

RexTalionis (2337) - FINLAND - FEB 22, 2013
Cask. Pours black in color with thin tan head. Salty licorice in aroma, roasted malts and light notes coffee as well in aroma. Extremely smooth mouthfeel, just like black velvet. Salty licorice, hints of seawater, grinded coffee beans and even some slightly burnt wood in taste. Smooth, so smooth, this has to be the best real ale for me in awhile. Salty licorice with hints of tobacco in finish. Really tasty and the mouthfeel is just awesome through the entire time.
