COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber-colored top-fermented yeasty beer with lots of malted wheat. Sprtizy, light in taste with a lightly fruity aroma and pleasant, well-rounded hop notes.

Very seductive nose. Fresh bread with a spoonfull of bananas in a caramel rum sauce, slight hint of citrus spray. Very mellow mouthfeel, round and a little rustic. This hefe pours darker than most and reminds me of the heady and old-school Schneider. Very refreshing and substantive at the same time. Clean finish. Works very well food as the mildness doesn’t talk above the bacon. A little pricey, and not widely availible. 88, the Hellerbock is outstanding.

500 ml. bottle. Pours an exhuberant short lived light tan head over a cloudy honey orange body, heavy sediment in the glass....nose is malts, yeast, apple/pineapple, bit of clove.....taste early is malt (grain, grass), yeast, later apple/pineapple, slight lemon and clove, with a light, bitter, banana tinged, finish, dry throughout....mouth feel is light with fizzy carbonation. Not as spicy or flavorful as some, but a nice Hefe none the less.

Bottle. Pours a darker hazy dull brown gold with a medium coarse fizzy off-white foam head. Hearty aroma, musty toasted whole wheat with a sweet banana counterpoint, some light metallic and just a touch sour. Flavor follows, on the hearty side, whole wheat?, just a touch hot aiding the heartiness, syrupy sweet punch on the finish, ripe but not sweet banana, clove is mostly absent, just loads of wheat bread. Medium bodied with coarse soda carbonation, slightly sticky finish. Actually, upon further drinking, this beer is quite dry and rather nice!

Bottle... Cloudy, light amber ale with big, fizzy bubbles – like a glass of ginger ale – and stirs up no head. The aroma is super estery and lightly phenolic – banana, pink bubblegum, pear and peach with dabs of yellow apple and pineapple alongside a small pinch of clove. Light to medium-bodied and ultra fizzy. The flavor is sweet, but not overly so. Very fruity – lots of spiced yellow apple. Finishes crisp and very clean. I’m just not a fan of this style. Kudos to smith4498 for giving me this bottle of beer!

Tallahassee, Fl - Proof Bar - 500 ml bottle - handsomely poured. Solid hefe, nice cloudy dark orange pour with a soft white head. classic hefe with the requisite bubble gum and clove aroma. Flavor has nice estery accents with some banana back end accents and a hint of caramel which really perked my interest. . Very refreshing on hot spring day.

Poured a murky, brownish golden color with a large, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of bananas, clove, and citrus, some caramel malts, and a bit of nuts as well. Taste of toffee, banana, light clove, some citrus, earthy yeast, bubblegum, and a dry finish

Very nice hefe. Thanks Tony for the share. Pours golden copper with a white head. Nose is banana, wheat, clove, citrus, bread, and a sweetness. Flavor is bread, banana, hops, clove, and some berry sweetness. Light and very enjoyable.

Bottle, courtesy Tony at Oldsmar Tap House. Clear reddish copper pour, thick lacing and a decent head. Spicy nose, banana and clove, some zesty citrus, and a general tinge of sweet malts. Sweet caramel and dark fruit, some cherries, wheat and bubblegum, faint banana. Very flavorful for a hefe, medium-bodied, sweet but balanced by a crisp well-carbonated body. Nice.
