barleyPops (1066), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Mar 19, 2008 bottle courtesy of Styles. pours a moderately cloudy yellow-gold with a large pillowy head. aroma was more floral than I expected as opposed to many hefe’s with a yeasty banana nose. flavor was mild and well rounded with notes of peppery spice, hints of yeast and banana. solid, very drinkable hefe.
SSSteve (1616), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 17, 2008 murky brownish gold under a small creamy off-white head. thin lacing. spicy, caramel, clove, banana aroma. sharply carbonated palate with a light body. flavor of banana, some grainyness, lemon, hint of caramel, with a bitter finish. a little watery. Suttree (2404), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 28, 2008 Cloudy dark gold, decent sized white head. Wheaty, crackery aroma. Wheaty flavor, too. lemon, maybe a touch of bubblegum, some fruity notes, and a crisp, peppery finish. zappafan99 (345), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Sep 5, 2008 Taste: 9/8 Bottle(?Date. I got it for $2.99Yeah!) Looks: Hazy gold body, nice head. Aroma: Zest, fruit. Taste: Well balanced. Dry, thin bodied, fruity and quite lively. Finish is even and long. notalush (2128), Rawn-kawn-kohma, New York, USA Aug 30, 2008 Pours a cloudy copper, with a fizzy body, but minus the creamy head I associate with the better hefes (ie. Weihenstephaner) - somewhat sweet aroma, with lots of clove, a spicy, ginger-like character, tangy citrus fruits, and grain - fairly dry and tart, bordering on sour - quite bready and yeasty, with quite a spicy clove flavor - because of how dry the beer is, the yeastiness creates an odd mouthfeel on top of it - finish of stale hops and light bubblegum and fruitiness - lacking quite a bit of character. EithCubes (1854), Indiana, USA Aug 14, 2008 Bottle. Heavy wheat nose, faint vanilla and clove. Just a splash of honey and citrus. Golden pour with a short beige head. Very dry, bland, overly carbonated, overly yeasty taste, a lightly sour tang with a lightly floral grainy touch. Medium, soft, slightly oily body. Pass!
