Price and good looking bottle rise expectations for a beer enjoynment. Appearance quite cold with fragile foam. Doesnt look very much weizenbeer. Anyhow, why it must be so sour? A lot of hops and alot of sour hops used, which really covers other valuable under its total sourness. It takes energy to try to find tastes in the beer and actually I am not quite sure if I found any. Not 4 me.

8/9/10/11/11/11

(bottle) Cloudy, golden colour with a big and greige foamy head. Slightly yeasty and moderately wheaty aroma with traces of cara-malt and fruity notes of green bananas and a tinge of clovy spice. Sweet and delicately sour flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Wheaty and slightly cara-malty base with notes of banana and a whiff of citrus, bearable clovy spice in the background; sweet and delicately sour finish with present wheaty notes and an almost muted alcoholic strength; notes of banana and a whiff of caramel in the aftertaste. Solid. 27.II.14

500 ml bottle into weizen glass, unknown bottle coding. Pours very hazy golden orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big pear, apple, ripe banana, white grape, orange peel, wheat, honey, bread, light caramel, clove, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity/earthy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of big pear, apple, ripe banana, white grape, orange peel, wheat, honey, bread, light caramel, light clove, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of pear, apple, white grape, banana, wheat, honey, bread, light caramel, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, robustness, and complexity of malt and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; with a nice malt/fruitiness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and moderately slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice weizenbock. All around good balance and complexity of malt and fruity/earthy yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours a dark, hazy orange with a large, off-white, frothy head. Aroma is lemon, very strong lemon. Quite sour and crisp, some appleskin, some yeast, light banana. Taste is a lot of lemon, sour and crisp again. The strength of the lemon is unbelievable. Dry and sour. Some weizen flavors too, wheat and clove and yeast. But the lemon dominates. Some apple skin there too. Fairly full and crisp, decent carbonation. Not what one would expect from a weizenbock, but deliciously sour.

Bottle. Golden, cloudy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full malty – wheaty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and some fruitiness, some banana and light sourness, some yeast. Body is average to full, malty – wheaty and sweetish flavor, caramel and some fruitiness, light banana and yeast. Finish is average to long, malty - some wheat and sweetish, some caramel and light fruitiness, light banana and faint sourness, some yeast. Caramel sweetish weizenbock - way too sweet for me.
