3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Papsoe (21782) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 3, 2009
Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Clear yellow with a white head. Sweetish malty nose with a floral touch. Medium body, distinct floral hops that leave a surprisingly bitter finish - considering this being a Helles. 220809
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Maria (7805) - Thisted, DENMARK - SEP 2, 2009
It’s hazy golden with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt, straw and flower. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of malt, straw, citrus, flower and a slightly dry bitterness in the finish. Quite refreshing and nice.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 KimJohansen (10337) - Copenhagen V, DENMARK - AUG 22, 2009
Came as Plank Helles. Cloudy golden with a medium white head. Sweet malty aroma with grainy notes. Sweet flavour with malty and caramel notes. Had some grassy hops towards the end. Finished bitter.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Bierkrug (1641) - Idar-Oberstein (In Senegal), Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - JAN 12, 2009
500 ml bottle in Germany. When compared to their other beers it might seem to some to be a disapointment but as a stand alone Helles this is everything a Helles should be. One of the better Helles that you can find anywhere. But most people dont understand what a Helles is.

(Bottle) Lasting white foamy head with a highly carbonated golden body. Nose is corn bread. The flavour brings out a mild tin taste. Good. Thanks Joss!

Bottle thanks to Joss! Pours pale straw color with not much head. Grainy nose, slightly metallic, some hop. A little thin but decent palate with some chewiness. Good hop bite.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 8/20 Ernest (5113) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 1, 2007
Bottle (thanks Jonas!). Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of soap. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, husky. Light to medium body, watery texture, fizzy/lively carbonation. Quite disappointing, as was the dunkel (Edel), and a sad surprise from an otherwise strong brewer.
