being a big platan fan i was pleased to find their strong lager. apart from being a little saltier and firmer it pretty much tasted like regular platan, which is a good thing

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2008 Quite good. Nice golden colour with a slight white head. Quite sweet with a herby flavour and a malty aftertaste.

Tap @ Modrý Abbé.
7th beer in the blindtasting.
Wow, I was surprised by this! Pours a nice golden, lightly pale. A great, creamy, white head on top. Aroma has lots of crisp malts and a fine dose of grassy hops. Wonderful mouthfeel with just the right amount of carbonation. Pleasantly balanced flavour, really crisp malts and a fine bitterness that stays a long time until a dry, powerful finish. Really nice!

Pale golden. Grassy saaz aroma. Reasonably full bodied, rather fruity, bitter finish. A well made strong lager with nice hop flavour.

Volumous tight bubbled, fluffy almond coloured head, atop a shinning golden body. Winey malt aroma wrapped up in damp hop cones, cane sugar and honey wheat. . . soft mouthfeel with a wonderful balance of chewy malt and piney hops. Sweet cotton candy and some white grapes. Well done.

Golden, white head. Bready aroma, some hops and maybe some fruit as well. Malty flavor, fruity, almost a bit sugary but also with some hops. Pleasant finish.

The seventh beer at the Modry Abbe blind tasting.
Pale golden (almost yellow) coloured, medium sized airy white head, pleasant fresh hoppy nose with touch of corn. Sweet malty, lemony hoppiness and just a tiny touch of alcohol. Quite dry with moderate bitterness. Much better than Platan Premium.

From tap @ Modrý Abbé. Good looking - clear, golden and lively with a nice consistant head. Quite crisp with notes of bread, hay, grain, caramel and a hint of metal.
