Bottle from Alko. Dark brown color, beige head. Bittersweet taste with caramel, citrus, sherry, oak, malts, raisins and spices. Dry bittersweet finish with raisins and oak. Quite nice barley wine.

Pours a very dark ruby red color with little foam. Aroma has sweet vanilla at first, followed up by sherry, raisins and liquorice. Carbonation is mild and fits the style of the beer well. Taste has sweet sherry, vanilla and malts. Alcohol is well hidden, apparent only in the warmth that develops in your stomach after each sip. A finely balanced and enjoyable barley wine.

Bottle from a trade with Kristoffer, thanks! Pours dark brown/reddish with a small beige head. Aroma has a lot of sherry to it at first but when the beer warms up there are sweet caramel malt to back it up. Juicy raisins as well. Taste is sweet, a lot of raisins, vanilla, sweet malt, some dry chocolate, slight heat followed by vinous dry notes. After taste is dry. Mouth feel is not as thick as I’d expect from a Barley Wine, low carbonation. Nice one, barrel ageing is most prominent to the nose but manifests a bit in taste as well. Alcohol is well hidden expect for the slight heat.

Clear brown color, tan head. Sweet, brown bread sirup, sugary, lactic, alcohol scent, soem black currant leaves as of using Bramling X hops. Farinsocker, sweet, caramel, raisin taste. Sweet, raisin, toffee aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.
I like it as a sipping beer, but still half a bottle was a bit much when it was down to drinkability. Desert beer to be had in minute samples.

330ml bottle, bbe 1/1/2015. Pours a deep, clear mahogany with barely any head that recedes quickly, forming a ring arouns the edges. Sweet sherry, toffee, faint spicy notes (cinnamon especially), figs and a little dark chocolate. Like a spicy christmas cake. Yum. Taste is full of dried fruits, sherry, slight alcohol heat, spices and chocolate. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light for 10abv with medium to low carbonation. Even a little too light - I would’ve preferred a thicker body for a beer like this. Still very nice.

Bottle from trade with rosenbergh, kiitos. Dark copper color with huge beige head. Malty aroma with syrup, raisins, plums, caramel, sherry, wood. Taste, sherry, plums, vanilla, caramel malt, wood. Strong alcoholic finish. Delicious. So far, best Finnish beer for me.

Bottled (thanks TBone!). Very deep copper colour with a mediumsized beige creamy head that leaves good lace. Aroma is raisins, very sweet syrupy sweetness as well as mild hops and liquorice. Flavour is wood, quite metallic notes, some alcohol as well as some mild vanilla and quite much bitterness. The metallic notes in the flavour are rather disturbing, otherwise this would be a beauty.

Smell of sugar. Clear dark brown. White creamy head. Very sweet. Flat carbon. Aroma of raisins and alcohol. Oily texture. Too stinging to be nice.

Bottle. Dark reddish brown color with a tiny off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with notes of raisin, caramel and plum. Flavor is very sweet with caramel malt, dried fruits and some alcohol. Quite smooth, medium to full body.

330 ml bottle. Dark ruby brown colour, thin and quickly dissipating off-white head. Lovely sweet aroma of berries, caramel malt, oak and dark fruits. The flavour is sweetish malty, with berries, woody notes and vanilla. Very distinctive and enjoyable.
