Bottle, thnx to Benzai. Pours a deep dark brown beer with a small white head on top. Aroma has loads of sherry, touches of chocolate, malts and vanilla. As it warms up, the aroma becomes more complex. Flavor is very sweet with big sherry influences again in there. Boozy touches definitely present, but not disturbing. Loads of sweet malts at the base of this beer. Great balance, great warmer for the winter. Good stuff for sure.

12oz bottle I got via a Secret Santa a while back. Pours a murky, deep caramel brown with plenty of sticky, creamy, lacing, slightly off white head. Nose has loads of sherry, wood pulp, booze, loads of raisin, very leathery, malt is still there. Surprising level of caramel in the flavor, butterscotch, raisin, orange, some grappa, a little cream soda, candy, a little dried strawberry, prosciutto with melon, some baked apple. Finishes oily but very, very smooth. Cannot believe how easy this was to drink. A real treat.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Hazy mahogany colour, small head. Woody buttery nose. Sweet with medium-full body and rounded mouthfeel. Butter and sherry, caramel and lingonberries. Mildly warming finish.

Trockener, oxidiert wirkender Beginn mit malzigen und heftigen Noten, die die Lagerung erkennen lassen aber nicht überzeugen. Wenig fruchtig unrund. 8/7/8/6/10/7

Very thick and heavy one with loads of ripe fruits, especially plums combined with big alcohol in the aroma. Tough stuff with a full body and surprisingly high drinkability. Complex and rather a liquor than a beer. Not bad.

Bottle from oh6gdx - many thanks! The barley wine pours out in a deep dark brown colour with low head and smooth body. Aroma of cake, prunes and malt. Taste of torf, dark roasted barley, berries, whiskey, prunes and chocolate. Earthy-smooth finish. Nice one.

Dark cherry oak colour, big head. Aroma of sweet cherry and the taste is simply too sweet. A bit like cognac, but the finish is nicer. Not a bad beer, just very sweet even for a barley wine.
