3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very thick and heavy one with loads of ripe fruits, especially plums combined with big alcohol in the aroma. Tough stuff with a full body and surprisingly high drinkability. Complex and rather a liquor than a beer. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from oh6gdx - many thanks! The barley wine pours out in a deep dark brown colour with low head and smooth body. Aroma of cake, prunes and malt. Taste of torf, dark roasted barley, berries, whiskey, prunes and chocolate. Earthy-smooth finish. Nice one.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark cherry oak colour, big head. Aroma of sweet cherry and the taste is simply too sweet. A bit like cognac, but the finish is nicer. Not a bad beer, just very sweet even for a barley wine.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle @ the brewpub. Reddish brown beer with minimal head. Aroma has sweet malts with sherry notes. Sweet flavour has lots of maltiness and sherry. Low carbonation makes it a soft brew. Tasty!

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark brown color. Bright short lasting head. Very nice nose, dried fruit, cherries grows very positive with temperature. Nice taste, sweet yet quite tart, maybe from the ageing. One thing not so good is the body, to thin for the style in my opinion! Surprised it?s nr 3 from Finland.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep copper. Nose of caramel, floral hops, some oxidation. Medium sweetness, caramel malts, red wine, slightly tart line through it, presumably from the sherry, some oak. Slightly thin, but fairly complex and great with some Colston-Bassett.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Celebrating Finnish Independence Day with this. Dark brown with reddish tint, almost no head at all. Raisins, plums, caramel, vanilla. Sherry-aging very noticeable. Heavy sweetness. Strong and complex as barley wines tend to be, this one even more portwine-like than most. Definitely worth drinking.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle thanks to Jan! Pours a clear dark amber with a tan head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a strong sherry note with a bit of booze and underlying sweet grains and caramel. Flavor starts with sweet grains and caramel that is joined by notes of toffee and sherry in the finish.
