tlind2 (208), Helsinki, Finland Apr 12, 2008 Draught @ Helsinki Beer Festival 2008. Amber color, tiny head. Both the aroma and taste are reminiscent of oak-smoked ham, but the beer could do with some additional flavors and more body, now it’s pretty one-dimensional -- but a good smoked beer nonetheless. liinis (393), Finland Apr 7, 2008 draught at Plevna Tampere.
this a good start for the next smoke beer of Plevna. I wasn’t quite satified with this one. nice character, but empty body.
rhy, tar and thick smoke.
Should have more strong body SaintMatty (423), Tallinn, Estonia Mar 12, 2008 Draught in Pikkulintu, Helsinki- Dark brown with a short head. Roasted, slightly smokey aroma with a hint of bacon. Smokey, Oakey taste with bacon and charcoal detected. Nicely smoked and not too overwhelming in the taste. I do not think I could manage more than 1 glass though. ako (122), Turku, Finland Mar 10, 2008 Deep red, amber even. Leaves a nice lace from the beige head. Smells like a pot of tar. Flaor is very smoky, like some rye bread, with hints of tar. Feels a little too light in the mouth, doesn’t fully complement the taste. Very dry finish. Could use a stronger body, otherwise quite okay. austone (305), Turku; Pori, Finland Mar 6, 2008 Dark amber, small pale head. Nose is malty and lightly smoky with sweet tar. Flavor has herbal hops and some tar. Finishes quite malty and crisply bitter. Medium bodied, perhaps a little watery, with foaming carbonation. Very pleasant and balanced, smooth rauchbier compined with a solid bitter.
