omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 7, 2006 Updated: Aug 28, 2006[Draught at GBBF] Clear nut brown. Junipery smoke aroma. Dry and soft. Dominated by wood, smoke and licorice with some light grassy hops. Odd, attention craving yet balanced. The smokiness seems surprisingly junipery for a beechwood smoked beer. Nekronos (2017), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 14, 2006 VEry good, it was a marvel from Finland, adeliscious beer, nice smoked grains taste, not a single complain. Rune (1839), Tromsø, Norway Oct 10, 2006 This is a well-crafted smoked beer version! Palisander in colour. Off-white head. Smoked bacon and tang in both aroma and flavour. The rich taste is also spicy and contains tar, wood and roasted malts. Medium to full palate (draught at the brewpub 06.10.2006). wunderbier (1261), Finland Aug 6, 2007 Draft @ Plevna. Deep amber hue with a frothy, off-white head. Strong aroma of tar, cedar, Islay whisky, biscuits, light sausage and honey comb. Very enjoyable aroma in that it’s big on the smoke and wood aspect and not too heavy on meaty aromas common in most smoked beers. The flavour begins lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter and finishes lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Pleasantly dry in the flavour, approachable for beginners as well. Medium bodied with a slick texture and lively carbonation. TBone (5169), Pori, Finland Apr 9, 2006 Draught@HBF2006
Dark copper brown, small brownish head. Goof smoked ham aroma like in good Scherlenka. Lighter than its German companions. Good smoked (Bamberg smoked malts used here) - malty flavor. Excellent easy to drink rauchbier.
