4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Pours black with small dark head. Strong bourbon vanilla aroma and flavor. The strong bitterness and slight chemical aroma/flavor of the original are placed by a beautiful sweetness. Best Finnish beer for me. (Rated 2011/04/24)

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
500. Thanks Patrik! Pours inky jet black with nary a head, lace, or bit of leg showing. Pretty much stillborn in the glass, but well entitled to such a heavy landing. It’s a big beast. Big roasty salty gourmet soy sauce nose. Medium body, very still, feels like a big beer but without the big body, if that makes any sense. Roasty, salty, plenty of coffee, lots of soy sauce on the mid-palate. A very dark and heavy impy. Looooong salty soy finish. This is a real powerhouse with a very narrowly focused flavor profile. Very enjoyable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Black and opague. Yoghurt, malt and licorice in the aroma. Full boided, sweet and sligtly alcoholic. Roasted malt, ash, licorice, salt, earthy citric hops and some fresh cheese in the flavor. Almost tart. Very hard to notice the barrel ageing. Well hopped. Good!

Thanks to Andrè. Black with a beige creamy yet vanishing head. Aroma is very nice, balsamic, with the obvious roasted features and a vanilla touch. Flavourful, creamy, with a slight warming bitter end.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, shared by fonefan. A black beer with a dense, tan head. Some booze on the nose, but mostly roasted malts and chocolate, not to forget the lovely hops. Sweet flavor with some vanilla notes and booze, lots of chocolate and roasted malts, a good hoppy, piney bitter flavor. Full-bodied and warming. The lasting finish has alcohol, roasted malts and coffee. A wonderful beer, tasteful and really pleasant. 100814

Bottled, thanks Hanniku! Very black, beige head. Distinct woody nose. Fairly sweet and full bodied with plenty of licorice, coffee and whiskey, as well as notes of tobacco. Really well balanced, flavourful without being agressive. Great beer!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 500ml vintage 2010 (Plevna)
Opaque black color, small brown foam. Oak, vanilla, bourbon, licorice and roasted malts in the nose. Also some leathery notes. Served a bit too cold. Full-bodied. Normal Siperia’s hoppyness is blended in this brew with mellow bourbon and oak. Licorice, rubber and burned malts. Pretty succesful barrel-ageing although a bit too burned for my liking. Could be slightly more mellow (like eg. Kaggen). Congrats to Hannu for 10k. These barrels continue their life now at Beer Hunters, where they are used for ageing single malt whisky!
