UPDATED: DEC 14, 2013 Bottle 14/12/13. Pours black with a classy, decent-sized dark latte-colored head. Aroma is roasted with loads of chocolate. A lot of grapefruit too. Taste is a lot of roast and grapefruit, some chocolate. The hoppiness is strong in this one. Grapefruity and piney. Full with medium carbonation, a bit slick. So damn easy to drink. Very dangerous.

On tap at Kaisla back in 2010. Pours black with a dark beige head. Aroma is roasted malts with a distinct hoppiness, tones of bitter chocolate and coffee. Taste is roasted malts, bitter chocolate, espresso, not sweet at all, very much dry with the hoppiness. Palate is full.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 On tap. Poured black with tan head. Stron hoppy aroma, also some roasted malts. Flavour has lots of hops and some coffee. A bit bitter cocoa aftertaste.

Re-rate with the bottled version, 16.11.2013.
Bottled. Pours black in color with a tan head. Citrus fruityness, roasted malts, coffee and bits of herbal notes in aroma. Bitter chocolate and lots of roasted notes in taste. Has some fruityness appearing in the beginning, which later on turns into a more roasted chocolatey kind of approach. Some bitter hoppy notes are still present though. Nice, but I think the draught version is a bit better. This bottled version feels a bit more harsh at the moment. Maybe some aging would do this good. Lots of roasted notes in finish, which is nice. Gets a lot smoother and better towards the finish though.

Pitch black beer with beige head. Taste is full of roasted malts and very hoppy too. Full bodied Siperia is a really outstanding product in the Finnish beer scene being a real Imperial Stout for real beer fans. No compromises made.

Svart som natten och tjock som tjära. Otrolig bränd och med mycket stärk espressosmak. Mycket av allt helt enkelt. Den väldiga brändheten blir lite lenare efter en stund och i det stora och hela är den helt vansinnigt god Imp. stout

Pours a pitch black colour with a great chocolate-like brown head. Excellent aroma of roasted malts, coffee, licorice and strong hops. Same thing on the taste too with a very smooth mouthfeel. Perfect balance of roastiness and hoppiness. Mildly sweet and dry finish. Full bodied, oily texture and low carbonation. One of the best beers in Finland.

Numerous pints of Siperia from 2009 to this date @ the brewpub.
When fresh: massive bitterness accompanied with a strong malty body and loads of tangy citrus and licorice. A more aged version: much more smooth, still bitter but very malty and enjoyable. Still a 4.4 of course. It’s massive anyways. I’m happy to live so close to the brewery.

330 ml bottle. First bottled version I’ve tasted.
Pours a black colour with a creamy beige head. Aroma roasted malts, grapefruit, grass and quite nice caramel notes. Rich flavour of roasted malts, grapefruit, floral bitterness, grass, salty licorice and some bread. Full bodied, thick mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Very smooth and highly enjoyable. Still the best bottled Imperial Stout in Finland, by far. Still 4.4, although I like it a lot more when fresh and from tap.

On tap at Pikkulintu in Helsinki, July 2010. Very dark brown, well you can call it black. Small tan head. A lot of hops in both aroma and taste. Coffee, licorice, chocolate, roasted malt. Very hoppy Imperial Stout, really good. Almost full body. I want another please!

At HBF thanks to some guy whom I thank so thanks, some guy! Poured a very dark red, almost black body with an of white head. The nose is dominated by aromatic hopiness, piney, with some dark malts too. Aroma hops are there in the taste again perched on a lovely malty, slightly roasty body. A great American IS! Shame I didn’t get a bigger sample.

UPDATED: MAR 23, 2010 Draught at Olutravintola Pikkulintu, Helsinki, Finland. One of the finest Imperial Stouts I’ve ever tasted, with a full body and a ton of hops, roasted malt and smoke in its taste. Hints of bitterness, chocolate and liquourice as well.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2010 Black color, small tan head; roasted malty and herbal hoppy aroma, also slightly fruity in the background; medium to full body, still quite drinkable due to carbonation; flavor is heavily dominated by herbal bitterness mixing with licorice, alcohol and sweet notes. The Jägermeister of beers probably and therefore not quite my favorite.

Draught at Plevna, Tampere, Finland on 9th August 2008. Black as printing ink and sports a handsome pale brown head. One of the finest stouts I have drunk in recent years. Full-bodied, very strong hoppiness for a stout as well as delectable roasted malt and smokiness. Very bitter chocolate notes too. Totally exquisite and recommended.
