(From long backlog in my notebook. Tasted from tap in Kaisla on 2007-12-30.) Generally, I liked this beer. The hoppines of the beer was rather strong and balanced. The body was medium, The tase of rye was notable, too.

(Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki) Amber colour, small pale head. Nose is caramel malts with some pitchy hops. Flavor slightly sweet caramel malty with heavy piney hoppiness. Dry and bitter finish. Medium bodied, very smooth and balanced palate. This one really surprised me, a great american-style IPA.

Draught. Amberish golden colour with mediumsized creamy and quite lasting head. Leaves some lace. Aroma is fruits, nuts, some mild notes of rye bread and herbs. Flavour is grassy and fruity hops along with some ryebready notes too. A quite nice sweetish sour brew.

Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki. Amber color with smal creamy head. Tart fruity, berryish and nutty aroma with notes of black currant and honey. Bittersweet and crisp hoppy flavor with fruity, berryish and lemony notes. Nutty bittersweet finish. My friend said that this pint is suprisingly low on bitterness compared to one he had previously at Kaisla.

Attractive amber-red hued body underneath a large, creamy, light tan head. The aroma is very forward with aromas of resin and grapefruit from the start; quite fresh and sharp. Malt tones of cookies and rye bread fall behind, much softer than the hops. Behind that, spicy caraway seeds and orange blossom honey pleasantly pull in opposite directions. The flavour begins lightly to moderately sweet with notes of honey, caramel and bread, which are all slightly masked by the heavier resin and grapefruit hop elements. Moving toward the finish, the taste of resin and grapefruit builds until it scrapes away in a long drying finish that reminds me of warm wool at times. Carbonation is brisk, yet soft, and melds well with the creamy texture, all on a medium frame. I rather enjoyed this one...strongly hoppy, mostly dry...good stuff. Draft @ Plevna.

Dark coppery colored, little yellow head. Rich sweet, strongly floral aroma with caramel and still refreshing and crispy hops. Medium bodied. Flavor is also crispy-hopped with even some bubblegummy sweetness and caramel, still noticable Plevna-floral note comes up here. Aftertaste dries still with nice sweetness, not too much rye here though. Balanced IPA, again nice brew from my local brewery pub.

Tap at Angleterre, Helsinki. Slightly cloudy darkish orange with thick beige lacing head. Nose is a bit skunky and earthy (rye?) with floral hoppiness. Flavor is beautifully crisp with bitter hoppiness combined with smooth and even sweet undertones of (ryish?) fullness. Aftertaste is APA style, biting bitter. Very positive surprise! Reminds me of some APA’s I just recently had in California. Nice combination of sweet and bitter.
