3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught. Black opaque, big brown bubbly/foamy head, lacing. Sweet roasted malt in aroma. Sweet caramel, licorace and roasty bitterness mixed. Bittersweet fruitish and roasty aftertaste. Also some smoke is present in flavour all the way through. OK stout, but a bit too sweet for my taste...

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: SEP 5, 2005 Draught at Kaisla, Helsinki. Very black with beige creamy head. Lemony licorice aroma. Full bodied with thick, compact oily mouthfeel. Lots of flavours, like coffee and molasses, but lemon and licorice dominates. Really sweet with salty finish. A little too sweet to be well balanced.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at Kaisla Helsinki, on one of our (Mette and me) trips to Helsinki. Actually this was our baltikum roundtrip, we ended in Helsinki, lovely town. Well to the beer... A black standard stout, you know, malty, roasted, raisins, hop, but not bad.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 1, 2004 Draught at Plevna Brewery Pub
Almost opaque. Steady dark brown head. Alcoholic and hoppy aroma. Taste is hoppy and warming. This is actually "dry stout": not so smooth palate as Guinness has but so dry either.Long bitter hoppy finish plus some sweet tones in aftertaste. (7/5/8/5/16 4.1)
Re-rated, draught @Plevna
Full. Roasted, hoppy, sweet, lots of chocolate and licorice. Rich. (7/5/9/5/18 4.4)

Complex strong stout. Maybe the best stout north of Dublin.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2008 Draught (Kaisla, Helsinki)
Full malty nose. Beautiful creamy malty bitter and ginger taste. Dark notes of coffee and ginger, but the bitterness is very prominant. A classic well-balanced stout.
Not quite so amazing. Sweet smoky bacon taste, fades to yesterday’s coffee grounds. Beautifully mellow finish, very drinkable.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught, Oluthuone Kaisla, Helsinki. Oily pitch- fully opaque with a slim cappuccino collar and lace frills. Neopolitan ice cream and blackcurrant aroma over coal and mocha. Deep with dusty, burnt cocoa bitterness, blackcurrant streaks, burnt wood. Grapefruit and burnt toast finish; long, ash-covered aftertaste. Too fizzy in the US style. Good layered bramble fruit dusted with drinking choc, nut husk, soap. Good, but not as good as the piles of greasy salmon toasties that fed us for 2 days afterwards.
