Sep 9, 2007 (Draught at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Black colour with pale brown frothy head. Malty nose with roasted notes of wort, chocolate and brewing-house. Malty, grainy taste with roasted notes of wort, swedish small beer (svagdricka), cola and dark rye bread. Rather sweet, not very bitter. Very tasty, very much in the style of traditional swedish small beer, but with more body and more alcohol.

Sep 6, 2007 Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2007, London. Dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, burnt, burnt nuts, coffee, light vanila. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Aug 17, 2007 Cask gravity at GBBF 2007. Very dark brown, lasting tan head. Really tasty dunkel, lots of roasted malt, but not heavy in mouth. Moderate intensity and a good lasting tasty finish. Good stuff.

Aug 13, 2007 Cask conditioned - gravity dispense - GBBF 2007. A black coloured beer with a large marshmallow consistenct off-white head. The aroma is a bit smoky with ah touch of roast. The taste has some chocolate and some light roast. A nice beer which just needs more body.

Aug 1, 2007 Draft @ Plevna. Dark brown hue with reddish tints and a light tan, foamy head. Aroma is quite smoky with notes of dark bread, fresh herbs, slightly burnt toast, maillard reactions and roast. Flavour beings moderately sweet with a light bitterness and finishes with a soft sweetness and a moderate bitterness, mainly from the roasty character. The smoke isn’t as pronounced in the flavour, yeilding more to the breads and sugars. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and lively carbonation.

Jul 22, 2007 Near black colored, medium sized beige head. Roasted aroma with sweet caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is even more roasted with slight chocolate, Plevna-flowery character from hops here also. Roastiness and coffee last long in aftertaste with bitter hops. Soft palated. Nicely balanced dunkel.

Oct 8, 2006 250ml on tap at the Plevna’s brewpub in Tampere (great place!) (06.10.2006). Very dark body. Small creamy head. Rather poor in aroma, but some sweet hops can be detected. Java coffe flavour and a pleasant cocoa finish. Flat and dry. Not bad for a dark lager.

Sep 28, 2006 On tap at Wildeman. A bitter and very dark beer, really good. It’s got a creamy head the tastes picks up, from an easy sip to a punchy finish. Sticky and sweet.
