COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rehellinen ja konstailematon tsekkityylinen pohjahiivaolut; kunnon sotamies Shvejk olisi pitänyt tästä. Lempeänmakean laatumaltaan hienostunut pehmeys ja täyteläinen mehevyys tasapainottavat hienon humalan; Böömin punaisen, miehekästä katkeruutta ja tukevaa aromia.

Rune (7355) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 8, 2006
250ml on tap at the Plevna’s brewpub in Tampere (great place!) (06.10.2006). Very dark body. Small creamy head. Rather poor in aroma, but some sweet hops can be detected. Java coffe flavour and a pleasant cocoa finish. Flat and dry. Not bad for a dark lager.

Rastacouere (6107) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 3, 2007
Tight 1cm head is fully lasting atop the almost black hue. Fruity, almost smoky blackberry nose. Rather simple, but refreshing brew with a high level of sweetness that is cut by an intense carbonation. Powdery mouthfeel with cocoa, sour berries and nutty intricacies. A lovely take on the dunkel style.

Black colour with small tan head. Mild sugar and malt in aroma. Flavour is mildly roasted malt, sugar, bread and mild hops. Mostly malt. Rather uninteresting.

Svesse (5875) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 9, 2007
(Draught at GBBF, London, 9 Aug 2007) Black colour with pale brown frothy head. Malty nose with roasted notes of wort, chocolate and brewing-house. Malty, grainy taste with roasted notes of wort, swedish small beer (svagdricka), cola and dark rye bread. Rather sweet, not very bitter. Very tasty, very much in the style of traditional swedish small beer, but with more body and more alcohol.

Draught @ the brewpub
Three and half years of beer geeking and still haven’t tasted the Dunkel from my local brewery…but here we go: Aroma has lots of butter and diacetyl and almost no roastiness at all – feels a lot like a (good) czech pils. Also some grassy hops. Flavour has roasted malt, some coffee, butter and grassy hops. Some distant metallic savor occurs at the last sip. Creamy but definitely not foamy palate. Good (bohemian) Dunkel.

(Draught@Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Very dark, reddish brown color with very small but lacy, tanned head. A mild aroma of sweetish malt and licorice. Quite pleasant and complex, sweetish but slightly sour, very malty licorice flavor with rye and toffee hints. Medium to full-bodied, slicky, but quite thick palate with low carbonation. An excellent, tasty and full-bodied dunkel! The aroma is a bit weak, though.

On tap at Wildeman. A bitter and very dark beer, really good. It’s got a creamy head the tastes picks up, from an easy sip to a punchy finish. Sticky and sweet.

(Draught at Pikkulintu) Poured almost black. Head was medium sized and dark brown. The roastiness of the aroma surprised me. Aroma contained also cream and sweetness. Palate was too dry, body was ok. Lack on excessive sweetness was the best thing in the taste. Other flavours were roastedness, burntness, mildly molassess and medium bitterness. Aftertaste could have lasted longer - it contained roastedness and bitterness. Quite easily drinkable session beer - the high carbonation disturbed little.
