3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jtclockwork (5044) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 5, 2010
I had high hopes for this one, but it let me down a bit. Black pour. Very slim hint of caramel on nose and palate. Pretty much your standard porter. Rated 3/22/03

Smells a lot of caramel and toffee. Pours a nice dark dark brown with a tight fizzy head. Very nice roasted malt flavoring that leaves a sweet caramel taste on the palate. This is definitely something that I look forward to buying again.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 sneezey (124) - Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA - SEP 8, 2007
Very dark color, but with a reddish tint to it. What a great toasty smell. Tastes as good as it looks, slightly creamy with mostly a chocolate taste and just slightly bitter. Well balanced with the caramel just enough to take the edge away from the bitter. Very surprisingly good.

Bottle sampled. Pours dark with a decent size brown head. Aroma of caramel, chocolate, coffee, sweet. The flavor is sweet, caramel, chocolate, coffee, mild bitterness in the finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Drew (2413) - Kent, Ohio, USA - MAY 18, 2007
Sweet burnt sugar with hints of coffee - lots more aroma than I had expected. Chewy, but at the same time a little fizzy like most of this brewery’s beers to my palate. Plenty of caramel and coffee in the taste, mostly dry finish (more hops than I thought?).
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 troyc (2014) - Oklahoma, USA - DEC 18, 2006
(Bottle) Pours a very dark amber color with a brown head. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Toasted malts introduced caramel, chocolate, and nutty notes. Not a bad beer, but missing the balance that would make this a very good brew.

Really a very pleasant surprise of a beer. Smells nicely of caramel. Jet ink black; stout color. Much much darker tha you’d think drinking it from the bottle. A very solid not sweet, caramel and chocolate porter. I like these "pocono" beers.

Poured very dark, almost black with a rich head. The aroma reminded me of an old fashioned chocolate malt. Flavor was very nice, aside from a lactic/ citric edge to the finish.

This is one of my favorite beers, I’ve had a couple dozen so far. This bottle poured jet black with a dark brown head like someone sticking a staw into dark hot chocolate and blowing bubbles... A great dry, roasty flavor all the way though, the caramel malts there, not too intense, just right. A very good porter I’m looking forward to trying this on draft.

Very dark even inky black, with a small dark brown head. Dark chocolate and sweet sugars dominate this brew. It leaves a rich mocha taste on your lips. This beer is very rich, sweet and heavy. A very nice Porter, Enjoyed this one at Electro in OKC
