Aroma is quite what this promises to be: lots of cocoa with some spicy chili tones. Flavour has stinging chili notes and sweet’n’sticky cocoa malt. Finishes with moderate afterburner of chili. Just like Slottskällans Imperial Stout with chili added. Unfortunately this starts to get some vegetable-like notes typical to chili beers at the middle of the glass. Hides the ABV very well. A beer not for everyone, but if you like chili you should give it a go. If you can find it somewhere...

Hmm, I’m sure I rated this before, I’ve had it several times. Pours black, lovely persistent tight tan head. Good roast, chocolatey, but slightly alcoholic aroma. Very full palate, smooth, nice carbonation stops it from being too heavy. Nice esters up the back of the nose, and again a really good roast, but alas it’s a little muddy in the taste. Finish keeps the chilli really subtle, it only builds up slowly, but is clearly there - I do like the stealth aspects. A little too dirty compared to the Oo, and doesn’t hide the alcohol as well.

Beautiful brown top, nice appearance. First taste is very good, but then... no body, nice chili ending but doesen’t have this unique stout taste at all.

Bottle at TimE’s place - Tokyo Tasting. Black - offwhite head. Citrus, acid, roasted, sweetness, herbal, chili-like nose, orange, some light notes of red berries, nice chili bite in the finish.

Interesting, but a bit messy beer with sweet chili aftertaste. Needs more body to balance all the spiciness?

Pours hazy dark brown with a small tan head. In aroma - spicy cocoa, burnt malts, caramel. Taste is the same - little bit sweetness with a strange chilly end. Decent effort from Põhjala.

suurjuust (1031) - ESTONIA - MAR 27, 2014
Bottle shared by martjoobolut, thanks! Dark brown, brown head with family retention. Nose has alcohol, coffee, cocoa, some chili notes, roast. Flavour is roast, chocolate, some watery notes, the chili tends to dominate the middle and the end of the flavour. Watery to medium body, smooth carbonation. Not bad, but on the messy side.

This is the one with the Chilli? HIdes ABV, but a bit messy with a hint of chilli on the end. Certainly not composed but decent drinking.

Aroma is spicy, cherry maybe. Taste is good, surprisingly well hidden spice. Bit of heat at the end, roast.

Aroma sweet caramel, vanilla, chilli pepper bite, dark chocolate. some hop earthiness Appearance: Dark red, thin foam Taste: sweet, caramell, bit sour, little metallic, moderate chilli burn Overall: gave me a headache, a little average homebrew like, may be nice at winter or with some grilled meat.
