Bottle from Le Chai d’Anthon, Vitre, Brittany, France. This very dark brown beer pours with a thin tan head. It has a rich red fruit and chocolate flavour with spicy currants, toffee and sweet, dry malt and almonds on the finish.

33 cl. bottle sampled @ Streekbierweekend 2014. thx! for sharing people. Amber, dark brown sugar,… Sweet nose, sugar, caramel, malt,..; Taste is sweet herbs, coca-cola, brown sugar, herbs, candy,… Malty body. Little depth, largely just sweet, Huyghe strikes again.

Alengrin (2592) - BELGIUM - AUG 27, 2014
The dark Poiluchette, with thin, sticky, light beige head and dark mahogany colour with ruby hue, misty. Aroma of pear, chocolate, figues, caramel, liquorice, port wine, kahlua. Nutty and caramelly malt sweetness in the mouth, molasses, candi syrup, candied dates, bit thin mouthfeel, smooth, mild grassy hops in the finish. I liked the blonde one better but still, this is not bad, certainly in comparison with many other Huyghe beers.

Grima (2137) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - NOV 21, 2013
Bottle from Cora, Bertrange, Luxembourg!
Pours dark brown, nearly black, with huge soapy, off-white head. Smell has delicious belgian yeast notes and some fine roasted malts. Starts moderate bitter with roasted malts, coffee notes and some belgian yeast. Middle part has fine yeast notes paired with roasted sweet malts. Finish is well-balanced yeasty-malty with sweet and roasted nuances!

Shared a 33cl bottle from Cora (Luxembourg). Pours a redish brown colour with a tan head. Aroma is fruity, alcohol and malty. Medium carbonation and medium to light body. Flavour is bitter quickly changing to a more sweet note and a sour and dry end. Overall, a nice beer.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Dark red color, medium sized off-white head that diminishes almost instantly. Smell malts, caramel, sweetness. Taste malts, light to moderately sweet, caramel. Not bad, but nothing special either.
