3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
I think that the score is low for this beer...it doesnít get the respect that it deserves.
Hoppy character, but not overpowering with a vegetable taste. One of the best pale ales for warmer temperatures--full of flavor but lighter than most pales.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle and enjoyed in a Fuller pint glass:
Clean golden hue that produced a lasting frothy head and very good lace. The aroma displayed the Cascade hops but they didnít dominate allowing the malting to appear along with a nice simple yeast character. The taste matches the aroma perfectly, clean and crisp juicy Cascades shine with light citric and earthy flavors. It is balanced with a subdued malt background and dry woody finish. The feel is surprisingly soft but some crispness shows along the edge. Straight forward and refreshing beer that reminds me that not all beers need to be complex palate monsters. A nice summer brew and I just donít understand the low ratings on this one. Great bang for the buck, it is what it is, adding two points to the overall score.

UPDATED: JUL 27, 2005 Pleasantly surprised with this one. Orange/amber color with a medium head that actually hung around a bit. Aroma was a crisp hit of pine and herbs. Flavor was orange peels and clover honey, with sweet malt very well balanced by herbal hops. Soft mouthfeel, medium carbonation with a nice crisp, bitter finish that wasnít overwhelming. Just when I was ready to relegate Point to average macro brewer status they surprise me with an excellent beer like this!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Clear golden with a medium-large off-white head that is slowly diminishing. Apricots, grapefruit, cinnamon, and gingerbread aroma. A decent hop/malt balance in the flavor, with sweet cookie malts bouncing against mildly bitter and piney hops initially. Immediate aftertaste is moderately bitter with a slight graininess. Soft mouthfeel. Actually a very solid offering.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Came in the sampler pack taht I had bought just for the White (which was pretty dissapointing). Just an average beer. Nothing really stood out as different. Copper with no head. Smells piney. There is a hop presence with some caramel sweetness. Not much for mouthfeel and the aftertaste is too dry.

I think itís good! My homebrewed pale is better, but for a lower-priced commerical pale, this is very serviceable. And itís very reasonably priced. Iíll buy this again.

Copper. Nose has a faint hint of Cascades, but a bit funky. Citric hops are there in the flavor, but it kind of tastes like a real pale ale thatís been watered down due to the thin malts and weakened hops.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
This bottled brew poured a small sized white colored frothy head of fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent softly carbonated amber colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma contained notes of mild caramel and was very hoppy. The mouth feel was initially strong and tingly with a hop rush in the finish that mellowed after a while along with its tingle. It had a hoppy flavor with mild caramel and malty notes. Not too hoppy for me and rather well balanced.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A light amber color with a thin head. The aroma is toasted caramel and hint of pine and oranges. Nice relatively strong aroma for an APA. The taste is toffee and grapefruit. Greasy and slick mouthfeel. There is also some slight tobacco in this. A fairly nice brew, but needs a little more body.
