Radlers (the German word for "cyclists") were first introduced in 1922 near Munich, Germany after thirsty cyclists coasted through the mountains and were served a refreshing combination of pilsner and lemon-lime. This is the inspiration for Point Coast Radler Ė a thirst quenching brew perfect for those with active lifestyles. Authentic Munich malts combined with lemon-lime and grapefruit gives Coast Radler its unique and highly satisfying taste. Enjoy!

Poured a light yellow with little head and lacing. Aroma was of light lemons and slight bit of malt. Taste is slightly lemony with a light malty backbone. Seems like a light beer with some lemon flavoring - not as sweet and syrupy as other íradlersí I have tasted. I could see drinking one of these following a workout. Palate is fairly light. Overall a decent summertime thirst quencher.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a pale yellow with a white head of foam. The aroma is like Sprite. Tastes like a more chalky and mexicinal sprite. Citrus zest. Lots of lime. Bitter. High carbonation. Light in body and a little thin.

Bottle to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs.). Looks decent; a completely transparent lighter gold with fizzy white head that dissipates steadily and completely. Smells of lemonade and mild wheat with touch of lime. Not great though. Tastes like it smells, but less citrusy. Mouthfeel is medium-light to medium-bodied.Not good.

Since I like radlers and I like most of pointís mild beers, I couldnít wait to pop this bottle. From a twist off bottle opened with a bottle opener, it looks pretty attractive at first then the lemony aroma hits ya. First taste is cutting and refreshing. Has a slight dull aftertaste but its still quite refreshing. And yes, I can sense a little grapefruit, gives it almost a mild hop sensation. Not bad overall. Was not disappointing.

UPDATED: APR 26, 2016 Has a nice slight dark maltiness. The fruit flavors/radler part of this beer is of grapefruit, lemon & lime flavors which are all very tasty. Crisp and refreshing.

Very lightly hazed golden liquid. Moderate sized, soft looking white head. Lemon zest and oil, along with a hint of ruby red grapefruit aromas. No trace of malt. Mix of grain and citrus. All of a sudden I am smelling and tasting Cheetos. Assuming it is the corn/grain thing. Just not a fan.

Unimpressive pour. Bubbly like soda pop. Light citrus nose (like soda pop). Light flavor of citrus (like soda pop). No malt detected (like soda pop). No hops. (Like soda pop). No bitter aftertaste (like soda pop). Little alcohol (like soda pop). Not great but refreshing and thirst quenching (like soda pop). Probably a good lawn mowing/warm day/beach brew. -Pete Beitz.

Aroma is grapefruit juice. Flavor is also grapefruit. Sort of reminds me of Fresca. Pour is uninspiring - head bubbles up quickly and disappears immediately.

Bottle - Straw yellow pour with a foamy off-white head. Nose is actually quite nice--lemon-lime soda and grapefruit sugar candy without an overbearing sweetness. The taste isnít quite as good--itís all sugary gummy candy, like those sugar-coated orange slices I used to inhale as a kid. More lemon-lime soda on the finish, with mineral and a bit of corny lager. It could ramp down the sweetness and be much better, because the flavors are actually quite nice. Thin, watery, and effervescent--it nails the body. Just needs to be less sweet.

Seen floating in the cooler at a Friday night party - what the hey, as Iíve never had a radler. Full disclosure is that Iím not a big grapefruit fan. So, pour is nondescript with yellow color and minimal head. Aroma is lemony, hint of other citrus...not much else. Flavor is a mixture of Sierra Mist and pink grapefruit juice combined with a light beer - not anything offensive, but really not my cup of tea. I can see how this could be seen as refreshing after a lawn mow or something, but very glad to have had one. High level of carbonation.

Loose bottle rack at Binnyís. Yay, I get to give this beer itís full "rank." Letís see: Lemonade smell right under the cap as expected. Giving this a bump in aroma for being as advertised, and for not smelling like Lemon Pledge. Large bubbled foam at the top, just a very few bubble in the beer itself, which is a very pale yellow. Taste, though, is way too thin to match its promise. Feels like itís been diluted and then had the flavor added. The citrus flavor itself is all right, but there is no beer to back it up. I guess the choice was to make a light summer beer instead of adding the sugared lemonade of a true Radler, but the result is just not very filling or satisfying. I prefer the Stiegl radler, and even the Amstel one.
