It poured a light amber color with a white head. The aroma was of some honey and a little caramel. The taste was also malty with a crisp finish, but really not much else.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 blankboy (4286) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 14, 2011
Several draught pints. pours a deep orange-amber with a small diminishing fizzy off-white head. Aroma is quite vegetal along with caramel malt, light hops, some light sugary sweetness and some toffee. Flavour of caramel malt, light hops, light vegetal notes, apples and a light bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. As far as Oktoberfest beers go its pretty good.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jcr (1621) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - OCT 7, 2011
Bottle. Deep amber body with orange highlights. Big beige head, slowly diminishing The aroma was grainy with notes of toast and a hint of DMS and caramel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture and lively carbonation. Average Oktoberfest, but better than the other two beers I’ve had from this brewery.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 jkwood04 (1207) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 30, 2011
12oz bottle in a shaker. Pours amber with a thick, cream-colored head. Aroma of toasted malts, dough, and some light hops. The hops in this beer don’t blend as well as other beers of this style. Sort of light in texture. Not the best beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 dekester1 (193) - Neenah, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 24, 2011
Poured from a bottle a red/gold color with minimal head and lacing. Aroma was primarily of sweet malts with slightly fruity twinge. The taste frontend was mainly of malts with a hint of nuttiness and hay. The finish was of a mild hop bitterness. Palate was decent - not too thin and decent carbonation level. Overall, this is nice, smooth Marzen style brew from the folks in Point.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 madvike (1295) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 23, 2011
Bottle - Light clear amber pour with a thin white head. Grainy, medicinal nose with a sticky sweetness and a sharp metallic note. The taste is better: lightly sweet caramel malt with a touch of nuttiness and spice transitioning into a lightly hopped malty finish. A bit watery both in body and flavor. Has a weird fruity flavor in there that I can’t place. Had the Ayinger Okto earlier in the week--this one isn’t in the same ZIP code.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 beerchugger (709) - North Canton, Ohio, USA - SEP 19, 2011
Clear orange/golden color pour with a thin and almost non-existent head. Smells of sweet malts, slight crisp hops, and a touch of grain on the nose. These aromas translate to the palate as well with the cereal grains coming in near the finish. But it’s just too mild and the flavors that are there are too weak to provide much flavor at all.
