COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

The first sip made me cringe and think, "Ohh..... terrible!" The subsequent drinks did nothing to correct that impression, and in fact only intensified the horrific flavor mess this brewery decided to bottle.. A bitter dry metallic flavor that made me really want a Bud Light.

Aroma has notes of caramel, malt and lager yeast. Flavor is similar. Nothing bad, but there wasn’t anything that stood out as good.

Bottle courtesy of canihave4beers. Pours copper with a white head. Smells of caramel, earthy. Tastes earthy with some light, spicy elements on the finish.

Clear orange amber with a large white head. Good retention, only temporary lace. Malt syrup aroma with a slight sulfur edge to it. Flavor has Munich malts: apple cider, nut, again spoiled by the sulfur edge. Medium body, some life in the carbonation on the palate.

12oz bottle, shiny clear amber with a big, pillowy white head. Paired very well with a thick-cut pork chop, maybe the chop influenced my high rating on this brew! Spotty lacing on the glass, nice aroma but no real distinct characteristics, a bit muddled with malt and caramel. Some bite to the flavor, which is surprisingly crisp and on the lighter side of medium in body. Lots of nice sweet malts, mostly balanced by some hoppy bite and a touch of alcohol. Nice for a marzen.

Pours copper/orange. Sweet/malty aroma. Quite bitter and dry for an Oktoberfest. Leaves a bit of a sour aftertaste. Stick with some of the other Point beers.

12oz bottle. Pours a nice caramel color, orange amber, clear, big sudsy frothy off-white head 3.5. Aroma of some red apple and sweet caramel, hint of grass. Flavor is just a tad boozy, light munich malt, a slight richness, some apples, a bit hot, touch grassy. Medium/light bodied, sudsy feeling, frothy, fluffy, not sticky, chunky uneven carbonation. Actually not bad at all.

Rather light and a bit hoppy for the style. Disappointing... but it’s point, so what’s new?

Bottle courtesy of unclemike. Fermented grain aroma and spice. Amber body with decent head. Flavor was little odd as to it was more like cough syrup awith some spicey notes in the mix. Little tough on the palate.
