COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

Rather light and a bit hoppy for the style. Disappointing... but it’s point, so what’s new?

Bottle courtesy of unclemike. Fermented grain aroma and spice. Amber body with decent head. Flavor was little odd as to it was more like cough syrup awith some spicey notes in the mix. Little tough on the palate.

Poured amber with a three fingered head. There was not much to the aroma, slightly malty. Flavor was slightly malty as well, nothing special. A decent o-fest, but nothing crazy....just average. Ends with some chocolate, caramel notes.

In the bottle from HyVee Ames, IA. Pours orange amber with a clear medium off white head. Short retention. malty aroma- subtle apples and cotton candy. medium thick mouthfeel that finishes a bit fizzy, but leaves a long caramel taste on the tongue.

12oz bottle - Poured redish copper color with white head that hung around for a few minutes. Aroma was nice, kinda like a Jolly Rancher. Tasted dry with a wine like feel, not bad if you enjoy watered down wine. Overall I was fairly happy with Point’s version of this style beer.

Pours a semi cloudy copper colour with a medium sized white head. Aroma is slightly nutty, rich roasted malt character and subtle hops. A little toasty with a hint of maple syrup.

(Bottle) Pours a solid amber color with a small, whispy white head. Aroma is quite sweet. Caramel malts and some light vanilla notes as well. Flavor is what you would expect from the aroma. Some toffee and possibly a touch of hazelnut in there as well. Nothing too memorable, but certainly a drinkable and refreshing beer that is quite good this time of year.

Very true to the style very similar to the German counterparts. Medium amber clear color. Small white quickly dissipating head. Carmel malt aroma. Thin texture and light body.

A nice looking pour. A clear amber color with a nice two-finger tall off-white head. No real lacing. Boring malty aroma with some acidic notes and maybe some light spice and hops thrown in. The flavor wasn’t good. Malty and acidic with no spice or hops pushing through. Thin mouthfeel.
