COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

Bottle - Light clear amber pour with a thin white head. Grainy, medicinal nose with a sticky sweetness and a sharp metallic note. The taste is better: lightly sweet caramel malt with a touch of nuttiness and spice transitioning into a lightly hopped malty finish. A bit watery both in body and flavor. Has a weird fruity flavor in there that I can’t place. Had the Ayinger Okto earlier in the week--this one isn’t in the same ZIP code.

Clear orange/golden color pour with a thin and almost non-existent head. Smells of sweet malts, slight crisp hops, and a touch of grain on the nose. These aromas translate to the palate as well with the cereal grains coming in near the finish. But it’s just too mild and the flavors that are there are too weak to provide much flavor at all.

Pours a beautiful copper gold with a decent sized mostly lasting off white head with lots of carbonation. Nose is mostly malt with a hint of hops. Fairly creamy texture, this Octoberfest has a malt flavor but the taste is not as pronounced as similiar beers. A light hops note on adds a pleasant finish.. Pairs well with ham and swiss on rye.

Drank from 12oz can. Very low on carbonation, kind of a cheap skunky texture. Aroma is bread, hint of pickle. Some spice. Savory light sweet taste. Got substantially better once I started eating the Subway BMT I was grilling. Palate isn’t even an issue anymore. Definitely only drink this is you are consuming some sort of food. Drinkable.

Not very significant in any way and surely not a reminder of any real Oktoberfest brau. Bitter finish, not very robust, not very complicated. Overall, a nonmemorable beer in every way. It does not cause acid stomach like most Leinenkugel beers do.

Alright marzen but not such a great brew overall. Aroma is a bit skunky and lightly hoppy.

12 oz twist off brown bottle. The appearance for this one is a dead ringer for a Shiner Oktoberfest, It is orange/amber in color, perhaps a bit lighter with a crappy fizzy white head that dissipates in about 10 seconds. The smell on this oen is decent for an oktoberfest, there is a soapy scent hat is kind of off putting, but overall it is a clean smelling version of the style. It doesn’t bring a ton of maerzen character but enough. This one is also unnofensive int he flavor, though im picking up some diacetyl. It is nutty, caramally, with a sourdough character. It isn’t too sweet like a lot of midrange oktoberfests. There is a light hop bitterness, nothing offensive, but nothing flattering. The mouthfeel seems a bit weak, but it is nice and drinkable. A middle of the road oktoberfest form a brewery known for brewing some crap. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 09-06-2010 02:08:13

Slight oxidation, not really that bad for a Oktoberfest although it still has that spice taste that makes American Oktoberfests inferior to German standards of the style.

Pours light orange with a thin head. Not much happening in the aroma. Tastes like...beer. Nothing special at all. Malty, slight toast. Medium carbonation. Finish is brief. Tried it with 5 other guys, against 6 other Oktoberfest beers. This was the unanimous least favorite.

12 ounce bottle - $1.29 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a clear, orange-amber body with a finger or two of off-white suds. A few glass-clinging smears of lace on the descent. Smell: Sweetish nose, primarily bready, but with some toasty and nutty accents to it and a far-off hint of light caramel syrup. Herbal, spicy, earthy Noble hops. Taste: Maltiness tasting of ever so slight toasted bread brushed with a coating of sugary caramel. Lightly nutty. Faint fruitiness. Spicy, earthy German hops with ample supporting bitterness. The initial, light nuttiness grows a bit as you near the drying, reasonably crisp finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-plus carbonation. Drinkability: A standard, simple, but easy-drinking O-fest (at a decent price) to kick-start the weekend.
