COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

Bottle. Love Marzen beers and this is a good one. Amber copper color. Malty, nutty taste. Aroma is candy corn, hay, love it.

10.26.09 Tap at the Great Notch. A pretty meager oktoberfest really. Nothing redeeming whatsoever. Pass it up

12 oz bottle pours a clear amber with a small white head and a little lacing. Aroma is mostly caramel malts, with some vanilla and a bit of grass. Finish has a light citrus touch. Body is light to medium without much carbonation. As the start of the name implies, it’s OK, but I won’t search for this next fall. Thankfully, I only paid $6 for a 6-pack.

Copper color. Smell of roasted malt, leaves, spice and bread. Taste of leaves, malt, nuts, spice, bread and caramel. At times, it was enjoyable, and then at other times it was harsh.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2012 Clear, orange in color with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel malt, biscuit, slightly earthy. Flavor is spicy, late bitterness. Quite smooth.

Pours and amber/copper color with tall white head. Fragrant caramel malt aroma. Spicy sweet caramel malt, bready and a little roasty/nuttiness. Good balancing hops. A little thin but very drinkable. Another great Marzen!

Single from Three Cellars. Sweet and a bit weak light malts. Not bad though.

Clear orange/golden color pour with a thin and almost non-existent head. Smells of sweet malts, slight crisp hops, and a touch of grain on the nose. These aromas translate to the palate as well with the cereal grains coming in near the finish. But it’s just too mild and the flavors that are there are too weak to provide much flavor at all.

Clear orange amber with a large white head. Good retention, only temporary lace. Malt syrup aroma with a slight sulfur edge to it. Flavor has Munich malts: apple cider, nut, again spoiled by the sulfur edge. Medium body, some life in the carbonation on the palate.
