Point Oktoberfest is an authentic Marzen Style Lager Beer, a style reminiscent of the beers originally brewed for the first Oktoberfest Celebrations in Germany during the early 1800’s. Hand-crafted using Hallertauer hops and sweet Vienna roasted malts for a rich amber hue. The result is a full flavored, well balanced beer, brewed in celebration of the upcoming season.

Dark bronze to dark copper color. Smallish aged paper colored head. Light aromas, with toasted grain about as much as I can detect. There is a slight amount of DMS, but I only sniff that after looking for something more. Lots of caramel to start. A bitter, somewhat acidic/astringent component. Some dry nutty flavors as well. Seems like a dry nutty lager. Lacks a smooth crisp anything. I appreciate the effort, but some work still needs to be done to perfect this one.

Rather light and a bit hoppy for the style. Disappointing... but it’s point, so what’s new?

Poured light copper color, with 2 finger white head. A = faint toasty-ness, not too much else going on here. T = little bit more of the toasty flavor, but its pretty weak. The hops barely show up here, just enough to keep it from being unbalanced to the sweet side. mouthfeel is maybe a notch below medium. Overall this is just a really typical offering from Point, which average at best. Seems like every aspect of this beer needs to be bumped up a notch or two. This is just to light overall for me.

Pours a light orange color with a small head. The aroma has mild nutty notes and a bit of graininess. The flavor is malty and grainy with some light fruity sweetness and some light nuttiness, light, light, light.

A decent American made Oktoberfest. Aroma was light roasted malt with a hint of peanut. Pour was light to medium brown with plenty of rising bubbles and a one finger off white head. Taste was nutty, with a roasted caramel base and an almost sweet sugary aftertaste. Not bad, but the nutty flavor just seemed off.

I bought this in the bottle from Total Wine in Henderson, NV. Mild tasting marzen well balanced malt and hops, not my favorite Oktoberfest but a decent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours amber from the bottle. No head. Grassy smell. Carmel and malty taste. Not the greatest but drank it easily. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tasted blind: This is slightly cloudy w/ a foamy head, pretty light in color for an American Oktoberfest. It’s pretty mild in flavor but oversweet and sticky. It’s got a bit of oxidized malt and a combination of mineral and citrus notes that sit kind of strangely together. This is drinkable at best.
