Point Special is a well-balanced, full-bodied premium beer. This award-winning pilsner-style lager is highly praised for its pleasant hop aroma and smooth, hearty flavor.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a disparity between a beer’s style and overall ratings. I suppose I see why considering the competition. For an easily drinkable American light lager, I would choose this over Bud and the like any day. That said, you can find better lagers with less stale bread aroma and a sharper and more interesting hop palate.

was not skunky trying to put an aroma to it, which tells me very plain, in bottle, nothing makes this stand out either good or bad, thin feel, light body, average carbonation, maybe the next one will improve

nothing "special" about this one. it’s not bad, but I wouldn’t call it good either. Just a middle of the road, lager. It’s beer, but it’s not wonderful.

On tap at the Beetle Bar, Humboldt Park, Chicago. Slightly distinctive wrt mass-market PLs, more hop bitterness and a slightly smoother palate. Not worth seeking out

meh; slightly better than BMC but not worth it; pretty generic aroma; flavor was slightly tart; slight hop; I drank and slight amount and slightly poured the rest out..

Aroma of corn flakes and alphalfa. Light golden., very little head , lots of carbonation. Mouthfeel is light, sweet corn taste, and grain, like breakfest cereal. Did have a smooth aspect which makes it decent at least.

Not bad for a pale lager. The nose is grain and grass with notes of sweet corn. The beer is pale straw with a thin fizzy white head. The taste is back to cornand hay. The beer is thin but clean and smooth.

This si pretty much the same as Bud/Miller/PBR etc. Nothing to write home about.

Light golden yellow. Has a bit of a skunky smell. No skunky taste but a bit sour at first. Finishes smooth and tops it off a light hoppy sweet taste. Doest not leave a strong aftertaste. May buy again but wouldn’t prefer it if other options are available...

Snifter pour. Nose is light lemon and grassy grain with a general sweetness to it. Body is clear yellow with some bubbles. Head is white but fades out almost like artificial CO2. Taste is light bread and hay with some minimal hop. Sweet. Hmmm.....
