"Point Three Kings is a highly drinkable golden colored Kölsh-Style Ale inspired by the story of the three kings whose remains reside in the Köln Cathedral in Köln Germany. Köln is the birthplace of Kölsh ale, often referred to as the ‘crown jewel of brewing art’. Elegant and well-balanced Three Kings is hand-crafted with a delicate fruity aroma, clean soft maltiness, and crisp subtle hopping – an adventure fit for a king."

Pale yellow colored brew with a bright white head. The nose has some nice raw dough. There is also some green beans and a little bit of raw green leaf lettuce. The taste has a bitter bit of leafy greens and a bite of tobacco. There is also a little bit of some herbs and wood. I would like this more if it had a little bit of sweetness or fruit to balance out the strong vegetable character.

Do these guys need to make more shitty tasting boned ales? Buttery with a hint of water.

Pretty bland. Yellow, ring of foam. Bready malt, plus some corn in the aroma. Flavor is bread and corn, as well.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Very solid Kolsch. Clear light golden pour with a smaller white head. Nose is grain and light fruit. Palate is lighter but consistent with expectations for the style. Taste is light fruit, grass, and a nice little hop element that adds some character. I think this is pretty well done.

Heidel House Brewfest. Straw gold. Aroma of water and pale malt. Flavor is water-logged, basement malt and light hop bitterness. Very watery. Not much to report on this one...

Macro looking pour. Slightly fruity aroma. The hops are subtle as they sneak up on you. The aftertaste reveals more hoppiness that the beer does while it’s still in your mouth. Without that this beer would be worthless. As it is, it’s very drinkable but not great

Poured a clear deep gold with a light head that faded quickly to lace. Aroma was interesting - slight malt sweetness with a fruity/pine hint and a pinch of honey. Taste was of malt, fruity/pear/pine mix and a light to moderate hop bitterness. After a while I realized it is kind of similar to Leine’s with the pine/pear hints. Palate was decent. Overall not a bad new offering by Point.

Clear pale gold with a thin fizzy head. Aroma is light grainy malt and a bit of citrus. Flavor is crisp malt with a creamy palate and a light yeast and hops tang. It’s not an IPA but it is a tasty, refreshing and easy drinking beer.
