Pours dark orange umber with a small light beige head. Smells of pumpkin, spices, and hints of crust sweetness. Taste is exactly like a pumpkin pie in beer form. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and lightly fizzy mouth-carbonation, Point Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale finishes sweet and pumpkin pie-like.

WOW! I was expecting the usual mild flavored boring pumpkin beer when I popped this open, but was I surprised! Aroma was very weak and I figured I was right. Pour was a nice light brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was stunning. Heavy pumpkin pie spices fill the mouth with cinnamon and nutmeg taking center stage. These spices have a nice sharp bite that plays well with the malty sweetness. Deliciously sweet and pumpkinny finish. Next year, once Pumking is sold out I will definitely seek this out!

Bottle. Pours deep amber/Orange with off-white head. Aroma has everything a pumpkin pie has...pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and even doughy crust. Flavor is much the same but add some malty sweetness and it is perfected!! You can even taste the crust in this beauty! Mouthfeel is medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Overall, I love everything about this brew, the maltiness, the flavors, the balance....EXCELLENT brew!!!

Delicious Pumpkin Ale. It has the unmistakable aroma of pumpkin and spice which is also apparent in the flavor, though not at all overdone. Slightly sweet, but only slightly. Very well balanced with a little bit of bitterness and a slight clove numbing sensation.

Geez, where to start? This is everything I love and hate about pumpkin beers. It smells awesome - cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, pumpkin - everything is good so far. Flavor is the same, but so heavy and cloying that its almost undrinkable.

Out of a bottle at the brewery. Orange/brown pour. Great aroma of spices. Tastes extremely of pumpkin pie. One of the best pumpkin beers I have had.

Great pumpkin ale especially for high grav. Good notes of spice and cinnamon. Smooth finish. Not as good as it warms.

Vigorous pour needed to create head; head creamy but short lived; wonderful pumpkin pie aroma; oily texture; nice upfront but drops off and no finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
