Poured copper-gold with decent head. Aromatics of sweet pumpkin pie spices. Great flavor! A nice surprise with Thanksgiving this year. An interesting discovery - 2012 GABF winner.

Pours dark orange umber with a small light beige head. Smells of pumpkin, spices, and hints of crust sweetness. Taste is exactly like a pumpkin pie in beer form. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and lightly fizzy mouth-carbonation, Point Whole Hog Pumpkin Ale finishes sweet and pumpkin pie-like.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 rangerred (663) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - OCT 24, 2012
12oz bottle into a tulip.
Pours a hazy brownish-orange with a thin head that quickly fades into a ring around the edge of the glass. Nothing in the way of lacing.
Aroma is one of the best I’ve experienced in a pumpkin beer. Spices like clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon are there but there is an added sweetness. Almost like whipped cream.
The taste carries the same characteristics as the aroma and again that whipped cream touch the makes it perfect. There is also a little bit of caramel and never does the beer become too sweet and cloying. Mouthfeel is slightly sticky and finishes pretty clean.
Overall, a really amazing pumpkin beer that more people need to try. I wish more could be made like this.

UPDATED: JAN 28, 2012 Slightly hazy brownish orangish red looks like a true pumpkin.Nice spice aroma, refined and mellow pretty balanced pumpkin spice, nothing perfumey.Nutmeg vanilla caramel, malt, light cinnimon married very nicely for a very nice aroma-smells delicious.
Taste has a nice creamyness to it with malt carmel ,a mild toffee and a touch of roasted malt,a matched spiced pumpkin taste like aroma, toastyness, drinkability is really good not in a quaffible quenching way but just nothing offputting, this has been one of the better ones and definatly a pumpkin beer to have if you want a good one./The cinnamon and nutmeg do so more but nothing overpowering, very well spiced with a nice conditioned flavor.

Draught at Andys Corner bar. Very comparable to Southern Tier Pumking but better. Dark copper orange in color, with a little off white head. Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Pumpkin pie spice aroma, tastes so close to pumpkin pie. Light malty hoppy notes. Light pumpkin pie, nutmeg, cinnamon flavor with light bitterness notes. Full bodied. Finish is malty and dry and enjoyable. Very drinkable.

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2012 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright caramel-amber color with a huge creamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was semi sweet with strong nutmeg and moderate cinnamon and toasted caramel. The flavor was sweet caramel, apple, strong cinnamon and nutmeg and a fairly strong pumpkin element. The finish was medium length tangy caramel and spice. Fairly full bodied. Really tasted quite a bit like a pumpkin pie. Excellent.

Had at capons. Pour was a clear amber with no head or lace. Aroma is full of pumpkin and mild hops. Flavor is much of the same. Good pumpkin though

Bottle. Pours deep amber/Orange with off-white head. Aroma has everything a pumpkin pie has...pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon and even doughy crust. Flavor is much the same but add some malty sweetness and it is perfected!! You can even taste the crust in this beauty! Mouthfeel is medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Overall, I love everything about this brew, the maltiness, the flavors, the balance....EXCELLENT brew!!!

Draft at Jerry’s. Amber with light beige head / Sweet nose of pumpkin, caramel, and spice / Medium body, soft carbonation, somewhat chewy, sweet, and sticky, with good balance and finish / Well balanced flavors of pumpkin, caramel, cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove / Pretty much as advertised, and a nice job by Point.

Poured from bottle. I smell pumpkin, apple and spice. Mahogany with a bit of a tan head. Well balanced flavors of pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, banana, burnt caramel and a dash of pepper. Slight alcohol in the back. Mellow finish. Well done.
