3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
WOW! I was expecting the usual mild flavored boring pumpkin beer when I popped this open, but was I surprised! Aroma was very weak and I figured I was right. Pour was a nice light brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was stunning. Heavy pumpkin pie spices fill the mouth with cinnamon and nutmeg taking center stage. These spices have a nice sharp bite that plays well with the malty sweetness. Deliciously sweet and pumpkinny finish. Next year, once Pumking is sold out I will definitely seek this out!

Seriously good for a pumpkin ale. Tastes like a great pumpkin pie - enough sweet that you know itís a dessert, but enough spice to keep it from being cloying. Great mouthfeel from the pumpkin as well, making it feel full and lush. All three flavors play together well - the spice, the sweet, the pumpkin - in the nose, the flavor and palate, and the lingering finish. Easily one of the best pumpkin ales Iíve had, and Iíve had my share.

Amber, caramel color, nice lace. Very spice smell of orange, coriander, nutmeg. Far too spicy in taste, that lingers, but wish wouldnít. Itís like drinking a pumpkin pie.

Bottled. Pours deep copper, murky, white head. Aroma is huge huge pumpkin pie. I mean, this is straight up pumpkin pie. It may be over the top, but itís one of the best smelling pumpkin beers Iíve come across. The nutmeg, cinnamon, pumpkin, it all pops. Flavor is surprisingly not overpowering. Itís like a brown ale, sorta German style-y (I can see the Munich malts), sweet as a pumpkin ale should be, but not disgustingly so. Good cinnamon and pumpkin flavor. Only the second beer Iíve had from Stevens Point brewing, but Iím so far quite pleased. Affordable and good fridge beer to keep.

A very decent pumpkin beer. The aroma of nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper is great. The flavor is surprisingly balanced between malty vegetable and the spicy characteristics youíd expect from a pumpkin beer.

Pours a hazy amber-orange. Has an incredibly strong cinnamon and nutmeg aroma. A sweet taste from cinnamon and nutmeg with some malts, caramel, and spices. A medium body with lingering cinnamon and spices.

Pours a very cloudy, dull amber color with a short light khaki head. Pumpkin pie on the nose. The spices arenít over done, which was worth pleasnt to discover. Rich pumpkin pie flavor.

12 oz bottle served in a pint glass. Beer is a beautiful amber in color. Dense one finger off white head thins quickly but then hangs around a while. Not much lacing. Nice aroma. Moderate notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is lightly sweet with good balanced notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. Some true pumpkin. Taste resembles that of ginger snap cookies. Medium bodied beer with average carbonation. Overall very good pumpkin spice ale. On the spiced side but not overly so. A well balaced beer with good spices and not overly malty or sweet.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 5, 2015 Intrigued by this at the 2015 Lakeshore Beverage Trade Show in Chicago, so I was generously offered a 12 oz. bottle to enjoy once more at home. Poured to a mini Czech-pils glass, showing a clear, coppery amber color, with a frothy, persistent layer of tan head foam, and lacing of clingy ribbons & spots. The nose presented some caramel apple sweetness to start, then a perfumey, expressive, and balanced blend of pie spices, with an additional scent of pumpkin puree. Medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste added a bit of estery tanginess, moderate, earthy bitterness, and a touch of alcohol warmth to the finish. Sometimes Iíve missed with Point offerings, but this was a successfully balanced & tasty seasonal. Next time on tap at Millerís Ale House in Lombard, IL.. Same clear, coppery amber and presentable head & lacing, with an aroma of expressive pie spices highlighting cinnamon & clove, with mellower nutmeg toward the back. Pumpkin was more evident in the taste, along with a medium, earthy bitterness. Same successful outcome.

Bottle pour. The beer is a clear colper color with a white head of foam. The aroma has nice pumpkin pie and a pleasant sweetness to it. The spices seem to be well covered up. Bigger body and medium carbonation.
