3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
At least nine months old. Pours a medium to dark brown, black in the glass with a small ring of a beige head. The aroma is mostly roasted malt, with some coca and a touch of oxidation. The flavor is lighter than the aroma suggests, roasty upfront , but a little watery and sweet towards the end, with lingering brown sugar sweetness.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Way better than it is rated. This one is very similar to a bourbon county brand stout. Sweet and slightly bourbony, this is a real treat. Had a bottle pour at home. Black with a thin tan head

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
355ml twist of fbottle. Nice pour, with a creamy tan head, pours like motor oil and is not the blackest beer ever but decently dark brown. The aorma has a fruity quality to it with some roasted malt and cocoa. The flavor is sweet and syrupy, dark caramel malt flavors, raisins, chocolate. It is all here, and for a ncie price. Good stuff.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottled January 14, 2015.
Glass: Weyerbacher tulip.
Appearance: Black body, some chestnut on the edges, with a dense tan head.
Aroma: A bit of spoiled milk with hints of dark fruits and very light chocolate.
Taste: Mildly hoppy, some orange floating around, with hints of oxidation and spoiled milk. Not a very good beer, the malt base is murky and not very good.
Palate: Near full-bodied, mild to moderately carbonated.
Overall: This tastes like a homebrew and even then I would be overly critical of it. Certainly not worth sitting on shelves let alone being brewed by a professional brewery.

Surprisingly good Russian Imperial Stout. Feel a little hoodwinked by Point - thought I found a new brewery named Whole Hog

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not a bad beer but pretty weak for a Russian imp stout. Nice licorice note keeps it from being a total bust.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Beer Camp - Chicago. Pour is deep ruby/brown with a medium dark tan head. Aroma and flavor of slight caramel, peat, molasses, and coffee. Finish is lighter than expected and bitter.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque brown/black with a thin brown rim head, no lace. Very still. Taste is roasted malt with dark fruit and chocolate added in the palate, maybe a nod to bittering in the finish. This is missing any kind of edge, either hops or carbonation, to finish. It ends up as a thick syrupy concoction. Average at best.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
an impy with a somewhat unique aroma and flavor profile. molasses up front, with some chocolate and coffee as well. hops are aparent, but the beer is not bitter. a little smoke and coffee as well. look and body are underwhelming...looking more like a regular stout. the body is thin for an impy for sure, but works because the flavor is so smooth. at the least, the session ale of impy stouts. if you’re looking for a huge sipper, this ain’t it, but if you want a tasty stout that hides it’s abv completely, you found your beer. thanks Lou."

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Smells roasty and hints of licorice. Taste is licorice and roast with hints of earthy hops. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Point Whole Hog Russian Imperial Stout finishes with a lingering soft chocolate tone.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Heavily roasted. Lots of soy sauce and some some dried fruit. Medium sweet. Decent. Low carbonation combined with the soy sauce gives this an English imperial stout character.
