It just wasnít enough to use a blend of 5 varieties of hops in our India Pale Ale. We needed more. We needed to go wholehog! So, we added a sixth hop and created a more pronounced hop nose and a massive hop flavor for our American twist to this legendary style.

Amber with good, foamy off-white head / Faint hop and citrus nose / Light to medium body, with good balance and fair finish / Flavors of toasted barley, dry hops, and burnt sugar, with citrus notes / Point is doing a nice job of transitioning from being a micro to a craft brewer. As an older drinker with fond memories of them during my college days, I wish them well and say keep at it.

Coppery red with a two finger light tan head. Aroma is subtle notes of grapefruit and earthy hops with a bit of toffee sweetness. Flavor is creamy toffee malt followed by herbal hops and a dry astringent finish.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2009 BottleÖ Clear amber ale with a small, creamy, off-white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is restrained, but offers notes of biscuit, earthy hops and a touch of either toffee, caramel or praline - I canít decide - and just a whisper of acidity. Full-bodied and very creamy with modest carbonation. Decent balance. Toffee and caramel sweetness up front; earthy, astringent bitterness and a rumor of tanginess on the backside. Lengthy, moderately bitter, dry finish. Kudos to otakuden for providing the bottle!

A bronzed orange color, tiny bubbles, thin head. A standard grapefruit aroma with a nice mix of floral and grassy hops giving this a pleasant and not overpowering aroma. Taste is a little more muddled coming off as grassy, malt sweet, and notes of cardboard. Finish is mildly sweet and faintly dry.

Pours a nice copper color with a medium head. Aromas of caramel malt and hops.Flavor is of caramel malts mainly, but then a nice bitter hop comes through.Nice bitter finish. The body seemed a little thin for a imperial though.

I didnít think I would care that much for ths selection but I was wrong. Have had IPAís by more recoginzned brewers that didnít reach this level. The hops taste was above average and I really liked this beer. Pointís pale ale is under rated and so is this IPA. Give it a try!

Ok, not quite as impressive as the other Hog, but more enjoyable then their regular lineup. A decent mahogany pour with a creamy off white head. Aroma was a little unbalanced- lots of malts with some soft pine and light hops. Taste was very rich with malts upfront and a curly cue tailend hop finish that was wasnít as generous as described.

Slightly cloudy copper color with a medium tan head. Aroma of pine with hints of caramel and citrus. Strong blended hop flavor but a nice malty taste. Not to harsh for an IPA, itís a little bitter but it actually has a somewhat sweet flavor.

Bottle; poured an amber-orange color with not much head. Aroma was hoppy and a bit earthy, but a bit messy. Flavor was a blast of citrus and earthy; a fairly bitter version of the style. Drinkable and solid.

GRain hop and caramel cake malting, somewhat faint for an imperial as it warmed the caramel came to dominate, taste is a definite mixture of hops ,you taste all kinds of hop sensations that emege and whirlpool together, plenty of bittering hops evident, with slight wisps of that now reclusive malting.Canít really grasp and hold on to any particular hop flavor, perhaps muddled, but just fine for a hophead.
