COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It just wasn’t enough to use a blend of 5 varieties of hops in our India Pale Ale. We needed more. We needed to go wholehog! So, we added a sixth hop and created a more pronounced hop nose and a massive hop flavor for our American twist to this legendary style.

Gold, very nice off white head. Malt with a good amount of bitterness, but leaving plenty of malt flavor. The finish gives an almost syrup and alcohol feel to it with dry bitterness at the end.

DocLock (8103) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 23, 2012
Bottle from Capone’s. Pours clear deep copper with frothy, well-retained off-white head. Nose is tropical citrus including grapefruit and pineapple, caramel malt, black peppery hops. Tastes of syrupy caramel malt, with a pretty thick, rich palate heft, and flavors of grapefruit, caramel malt, tangerine, and sticky resiny hops. Finishes somewhat sweet, fruity, and hoppy.

Pours a medium brown with a very slight head which disappears quickly. Slightly citrus and overly bitter with the malt flavor not as prevalent as the alcohol. A bit out of balance.

12oz bottle. Good thin white head. Nice mildly hazy amber / orange color. Decent lace. Smooth lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Nice clean bitter taste. Good resin and citrus aroma, pine. Bigger body. Solid IPA, and reasonably drinkable.

Dogbrick (8813) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUL 6, 2012
This beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates slowly. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and hops. Medium-bodied with flavors of bready malt, caramel and piney hops. The finish is moderately bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Aroma is sharp and piney with syrupy sweet malt - not to my liking. Much lighter-bodied than I was expecting - piney hops as indicated in the smell, along with the caramel malts (finish is hoppy), but fortunately they are not overwhelming as I was worrying about from the beginning. Bursting with more than enough flavor to be a DIPA, but the ABV could be better-hidden - I’ve tasted 10 percenters with less burn. Okay example of the style.

from notes: very malty, not very hoppy. Not great. Seems like a high alcohol version of an english bitter. Meh. Scroll past
