3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 ounce my wife bought at Good Foods. Amber like in color. Fruity esters. Malty overall. Too sweet and fruity for my taste - but I recognize some IPAs take on this approach.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle from Premier Gourmet. Clear bubbly copper-amber, large fairly long-lasting off-white pillowy beige head. Smells like a solid US hoppy barleywine - resin, leaf-dryness, plenty of alcohol, very malty indeed - nice!! Taste - well, the same - thick, chewy, a bit boozy (in a good way) - a fairly bitter finish - was not expecting this - very very nice in a 12oz botttle.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer pours a cloudy golden color with a white head. The aroma features a lot of grapefruit notes, as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is a bit similar. The grapefruit notes still dominate, but I get some pine and a decent amount of bitterness. There is also some nice biscuit malt backbone. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper, with a splotchy white head. Smells sweet, mostly, with a lot of caramel and toffee and honey, then some hoppy notes in the background. Flavor is a mix of piney hops and slick, caramelly malt. Nothing earth shattering here, but tasty. I’d buy it again.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: Labelled as 1857 LTD Edition
Pours nearly clear amber with a short, light tan head.
Sweet, sugary, hop aroma.
Taste is malty sweet and bitter hops.
Rather mismatched flavour blendings...sweetness and hops at odds with each other.
Not too good.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours a clear amber with no head, bubbles or lacing. Nose is great with honey, toasted caramel and almost no hops. Taste is hops, honey, with an oily mouthfeel. This beer is undercarbonated a bit as well.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours bronze with a good sized rocky beige head. The aroma is bready and malty with a bit of toast and light earthy hops. Medium / thick body with quite a bit of carbonation. The flavor starts with the aroma traits, but on the nutty side and is very earthy with the hops, but the hops are not up front. The finish is spicy, bready and alcoholic. Meh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: JAN 12, 2012 Hoppy edge in the aroma with a sweetness in there too. The flavor is sweetness mixed with a hoppy edge in the finish. Kind of an odd DIPA, decent but not really what was needed, the sweetness should have been scaled down in favor of the hops, the hops didn’t stand out enough.
