It just wasnít enough to use a blend of 5 varieties of hops in our India Pale Ale. We needed more. We needed to go wholehog! So, we added a sixth hop and created a more pronounced hop nose and a massive hop flavor for our American twist to this legendary style.

GRain hop and caramel cake malting, somewhat faint for an imperial as it warmed the caramel came to dominate, taste is a definite mixture of hops ,you taste all kinds of hop sensations that emege and whirlpool together, plenty of bittering hops evident, with slight wisps of that now reclusive malting.Canít really grasp and hold on to any particular hop flavor, perhaps muddled, but just fine for a hophead. Thanks LT.Judge

Slightly cloudy copper color with a medium tan head. Aroma of pine with hints of caramel and citrus. Strong blended hop flavor but a nice malty taste. Not to harsh for an IPA, itís a little bitter but it actually has a somewhat sweet flavor.

Amber with good, foamy off-white head / Faint hop and citrus nose / Light to medium body, with good balance and fair finish / Flavors of toasted barley, dry hops, and burnt sugar, with citrus notes / Point is doing a nice job of transitioning from being a micro to a craft brewer. As an older drinker with fond memories of them during my college days, I wish them well and say keep at it.

(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours a clear amber with no head, bubbles or lacing. Nose is great with honey, toasted caramel and almost no hops. Taste is hops, honey, with an oily mouthfeel. This beer is undercarbonated a bit as well.

Mildly hazed, amber/orange appearance with a medium size head and good lacing. Bready malts come through in the aroma at first, backed up with floral hops. The large mix of hops adds a modest amount of depth to the taste, with resin and soft fruit among the flavors. Cracker-like maltiness adds some balance. Bitterness returns in the aftertaste. Long lasting finish is where the higher abv is most noticable. Think of this as more of an IPA than an IIPA, despite that higher abv. The best (so far) that Iíve had from this brewery.

Caramel color with a smallish off white head that soon becomes blotchy. Aroma is sweet fruit, spice, and biscuit. The flavor hits harder than the nose would indicate. An assertive bitter hop profile. Fruit, spice, caramel, alcohol, thick sweetness. The hops remain aggressive but smooth out as the beer warms. Complex hop effects make for a tasty and interesting beer. Much better than the impy Pilsner.

Has a real nice orange/copper color. Aroma and flavor are full of sweet caramel malts and light citrus with a decent bitterness as it goes down. Pretty good overall but not too exciting.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2010 12oz Bottle. Poured a clear, dark reddish copper with a thin off-white head with some faint orange. Aroma was very nice: fresh hops, sweet, tea, malt, fresh fruit (I just canít tell what). Taste: very hoppy, strong tea, notes of fruit (grapefruit) - all over a solid malt backbone. Medium body, slightly sticky mouthfeel, decent depth, good balance, dry. Finish was nice: fresh tea & fruits. Overall a nice DIPA.... however, this beer is much better cold - as it gets near room temp a grain texture comes into the mix that I found very distracting.
