2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 yngwie (10798) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 5, 2012
Bottle. A clear one, golden in color and with a finger-thick white head on top. The aroma is sure weak, but some fruityness and grains escape the glass. Quite dry on the palate, medium to thin bodied, and decently carbonated. Boring flavor, but at least there’s some bitterness towards the end. Else it’s grainy and lighlty fruity. Well, it’s not bad, but it’s certainly boring and uninteresting. 120405

Can, from a trade with Cunningham. Golden beer with an ok white head. Faint bready aroma, almost nothing there at all. Bready flavor, spicy hoppy notes. Thin and watery, but no real off-flavors. Bread and metal finish.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 larsga (5364) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 21, 2008
Big white head leaves coarse lacing. Yellow body. Mealy vegetables and earth aroma. Dry earthy sugary taste with corn and compost notes. Can’t really pick up body, mouthfeel, and palate, because I’m distracted by the awful ttaste. Dry metallic aftertaste. Arrgh! Need to go rinse my mouth. (0.33l bottle, Coop Prix, Oslo, as "Pokal Lys Pilsner", 4.5%.)

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Sigmund (4280) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 31, 2008
330 ml bottle, bought at Coop Obs, Stavanger, as Pokal Lys Pilsner, contract brewed in Norway for Coop Trading A/S, Denmark. Brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot. ABV is 4.5%. Pale golden colour, big head. Sweetish typical industrial pale lager aroma, some fruitiness. Soft mouthfeel. The flavour is fairly boring as expected, but not offensive, and there are at least some notes of pilsener malts. Very moderate hops. Easy drinking, and as the price in Norway so far is very moderate too (as moderate as our alcohol taxes allow), I expect Pokal to sell well to beer drinkers more concerned with quantity and low prices rather than quality.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 OleR (4248) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 12, 2008
330 ml bottle, 4,5% abv. Norwegian version as Pokal Lys Pilsner. Shiny white head with short duration. Pale yellow-golden, highly carbonated body. Low aroma level; dry grainy and light grassy. Taste is crisp and fairly dry, but leave no flavors to speak of, except for a faint grainy and fruity note. Light body. Noticeable bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, but utterly boring.

330 ml bottle as Pokal Pilsner Coop Norge. Golden body with a nice white head. Aroma is light fruity with some grain. Flavor is grainy and grassy totally dominated by carbonation. Some bitterness detected in the finish, but overall a boring and irritating fuzzy lager.
