bottle. Poured very, very pale yellow with a thinning white head. Light grainy corn aroma with a weird stink about it. Mouthfeel in watery light, average carbonation. Flavour is weak grainy, just a touch dry.

Very pleasant pale lager. Polar tasted ’light’ compared to other beers in this category. One of my favourites on a warm and sunny day.

Refrigerated 8 oz. brown bottle, best before March 5, 2013, poured into a glass. Pours clear yellow, thin body, medium carbonation, little lacing, small white head. Taste is corny. Not good.

erickok (2374) - Tours, FRANCE - MAY 24, 2013
Extremely clear golden green body with stable white head. Grainy, white bread, vegetables and simple. Hopless. Smooth body, better than expected. Taste won’t offend anyone because there isn’t any. Extremely light bitter is the best I can do. Certainly not the worst mass pilsner I’ve had, but very big lack in flavour. (25cl bottle from Amazing Oriental supermarket)

Bottle drunk on Margarita Island, Venezuela. Clear golden yellow colour, light, quite thin, not much carbonation. Not great, but thirst quenching in the hot sun.

Martinus (1878) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - APR 2, 2013
Clear pale golden yellow, almost watery, white head. Aroma of malts, adjunct, light perfume and corn. Light metallic. Sweet malty flavour. Light carbonation, sweet malty finish.
Yep, it’s a lager alright. Quite boring, though not completely bland and tasteless. If you find yourself thirsty in a tropical environment, I guess this beer would quite happily do the trick of quenching your thirst. So when considering buying this beer: First check for palm trees growing in your immediate surroundings.
(from 237mL bottle @ home. 4.5% ABV according to the bottle. From trade with Countbeer. Thanks!)

Douberd (683) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 30, 2013
Bottle, 237 ml, at home. Poured into a pilsner glass. ABV 4.5% Very pale yellow colour, piss-like, with one finger of white soapy head. Surprisingly, very good retention. Clear body, with a continuous stream of bubbles rising to the surface. Light lacing left on the glass. Aroma is more on the stinky side, with lots of malts and adjuncts. Fortunately after a while I got used to the vile smell and it didn’t bother me as much as at first. Taste is sweet, all malts and adjuncts and more of the latter than the former. The bottle doesn’t mention the ingredients but it tastes as it contains rice. Very thin and watery body, light carbonation. This is like the equivalent of a light beer, only is the normal version. Overall, waste of money. Avoid.
