2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 hopdog (6943) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 10, 2005
Poured a medium and slightly cloudy golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of lemons, light grassiness, and some malts. Tastes of lemons and sweet malts. Thin and somewhat watery body. Nothing special, but hey, it’s a Blonde Ale and at least I can now cross off Kansas from my state list.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - JUN 23, 2004
Tons of head, lacing, big bubbles & sticky lacing. The aroma has light malts with some yeast and light citrus hops. The flavor is balanced, more yeast with some citrusy components. Not quite bad, good almost belgian witbier qualities. Thanks Falconseye!
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 JPDIPSO (4957) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 8, 2003
Deep golden color with a small dense cream colored head. Old straw aroma with a hint of hops and light fruit. Some body but no real flavors. Has a weak tea flavor quality. This must be made for the hot Kansas City summers. A whole lot of nothing.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 heemer77 (4754) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - NOV 27, 2005
Medium hazy gold body with traces of a white head. The aroma is pears dry wood and bread. The taste is slightly tart bread with some walnuts. A slightly sweet hioney finish. Needs a little more character and less confusion.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Braudog (4473) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JUN 12, 2005
Golden maize with inviting white foam head. Almost a spicy nose that hints at corriander (is that the soy?). The flavor is unique, too ... mostly a sharp malt with a cheesey bite. Interesting sweettart finish. OK.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 SledgeJr (3579) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAY 26, 2007
On tap at the Parkville Microbrew Festival. Pours like an American Style light lager. Pours pale yellow with a medium white head. Medium carbonation. Malty sweet. No aroma. Watery and boring.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Nuffield (3058) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2004
I had some problems with this beer but I thought those were more idiosyncratic to my preferences and not something that would drive this beer to as low of marks as it has received. It poured rich golden with a massive, billowing head. Once it settled down, there was an interesting aroma that seemed a blend of hefeweizen, Belgian Golden ale, and saison (weakly)--citrus, mildly spicy, with some honey notes. The flavor was interesting up-front, with more citrus in particular, but the grassiness of the Hallertau led to an uncomfortable, dry, tacky finish on the back of my tongue. Perhaps I didn’t have enough sleep today, but it left me with a headache. I have four more bottles, so I’ll give this another try. It definitely has potential as a summer beer, although it is a bit too thick on the palate, needing a bit more carbonation retained for longer (not lost to the head) to give the refreshingly quality of a hefeweizen. Thanks Mike for bringing this down from Missouri!

Slightly metallic but a pleasant, flavorful and moderately malty lager from Great Plains. Not to be confused with the massively crappy Great Grains Brewery of Dallas, which is responsible for some of the lamest US microbrews on the planet.
