crazyvin (1245), New York, USA Aug 1, 2005 a good malt bill to this beer. grainy fruity(cirtus and banana) with some dough notes. Finished with a delicate hop perscence poured a cloudy golden-brown color. Nice white head. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2005 Bottle Code: 16505FL
I usually don’t read the other reviews before I post, but I had to see if anyone else encountered my "particulate" problem... my first pour ended with the bottle pooping out a mess of protein goobers that really disturbed me as they settled to the bottom of the glass <a href=http://www.workinlate.com/images/beer/PonyPoop.jpg>(photo). The other two bottles were fine, pouring an opaque golden-wheat with a huge head that faded slowly to scum. Aromas were overall weak, but produced yeasty characteristics of dough and mold with touches of banana. Flavor was mildly bitter/sour with a middle tinniness and fruit in the finish. Mouthfeel was dry and slightly creamy with a chalky end. If those "particles" recur in other bottles, I see it as being a big problem.

Retorp (2154), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 12, 2005 Aroma is pungent. not sure what it is, but I would guess some style of hop that isn’t normally used in a wheat beer. Cloudy gold. Nice coloring. Sweet and malty with a touch of spice in the end. Good mouthfeel. Cornfield said creamy and that is appropriate. A little different. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Jul 12, 2005 This poured a very cloudy gold color with a three-fingered, well sustained white head. The light aroma is sweet and grassy, pleasant, but with little other character. Creamy in the mouth, then spritzy, it delivers a sweet grainy flavor with an herbal, bitter hop taste. The ’hint of German "Hefe" flavor’ mentioned in the commercial description comes in the faint banana flavored finish.

KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA May 10, 2005 Updated: Jan 26, 200612 oz. Bottle (w/ cool blue star studed cap): I was suprised at how dark gold this wheat beer is an almost oragne color. I was also suprised to see the sturdy/thick head that followed my pour (agressive). The aroma is kind of faint, but rather sweet. The taste ... is not at all what I expected from a wheat from KS. I feel its very bitter for a wheat almost spicy in flavor. No where near as smooth as most wheats, but yet still smooth considering its bite.
I want to like this beer from KS, but can’t. Let’s hope maybe mine is just skunky (who knows for it to be from so close, it may have actually traveld far and long to get to CostPlus).
Although the further I got along in the beer the more enjoyable it became-the citrus/banana became more prevelant. The taste seems to slowly dissapate from your tounge after swollow, kind of cool. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Mar 2, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy yellow body with an average-sized, creamy, white head. Aroma of grass and a hint of lemon. Flavor is fairly weak with hints of lemon and banana. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Jan 22, 2005 Overly clear gold with a big puffy head. Nose pretty thin, bit lemony, nothing really resembling wheat. Flavor a bit sweet, some lemon, bit of banana, that’s about it. Generic American Wheaet. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA Jun 28, 2004 well.. pours orange colored with a white head that goes away quickly. taste is fruity and semi medicinal? its not a bad brew, but it needs something to make it thicker. this is a little too thin for my tastes. however, if i lived in the area, i would buy this in 12 pack form instead of budweiser. an easy drinking brew. thanks bill!
