2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle.Dark brown with a small light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, a hint of coffee. Medium body. Taste is sweeet and and reminds me of a danish hvidtřl - not much stout here.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black, good grey head .
Smells like a lager beer WTF ??
Taste is sweet , in a sugary, syrupy way . Grains, malts ( no not even roasted malts, more like the sweet malts )
Taken in concideration its ABV , it has a very decent amount of complexity and taste . Yet the taste is very simple ( SUGAR THE DAMN THING , was probably what the brewer shouted to the staff ) . Its a nice beer to session , and certainly a lot better than most other beers of the same alcohol content . But it can even begin to compete with higher ABV stouts .

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
APPEARANCE: black beer, small rather stable beige head.
NOSE: sweet, burned malts, nose is more like a Dubbel, rather than a Stout. Some liquorice and caramel there.
TASTE: very sweet, almost like liquid caramel in your mouth. Some coffee and quite some chocolate noticeable.
It’s not good whatsoever, but it’s drinkable. Enjoyable in a way.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black bodied and tan very stable head. To be honest it looks great. Thick aroma with some toffee and candy apple. Bit of milk chocolate, but all fairly moderate and sweet. Taste is rich sticky sweetness with chocolate notes and brown sugar. Black tea like bitterness, only to support. People are very hard on this, No doubt because in comparison this is very sweet. But it’s a sweet stout after all and I really enjoyed it with the simple cake I ate with it. And the body is nice and smooth because of the sugar, so especially for this price it’s not bad at all. Bottle. Black colour with a big head but disappearing fast. Aroma of moca. The Taste of sugar was so strong that it was covering everything. 5 people in the room and nobody was able to drink it. Finished in the sink. Very bad. Y

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
mocha head that disappears quickly with lacing. coffee coloured beer. aroma of toasted malts, earthy. (here is where it goes wrong). very very sweet taste, almost like sugar water with a very weak liquorice note in the aftertaste. quite a lot of carbonation thin body. hmm perhaps the ’pony’ in the name is an alias for ’sugar’? the label does read ’with added sweetener’, but really, was this vast amount of sugar necessary or are the masquerading something?? :) bottle 25 cl / best before 11-04-2014

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 1/20
Grainy and somewhat metallic aroma. Light brown head disappears quickly. Syrup and metal flavour. Almost like drinking a fizzy burnt caramel.

Pours dark brown color with a large off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and sourish fruits. Flavor of sour fruits, cocoa, roasted malts and some cocoa. Too thin-bodied and the sourness doesn’t quite fit here.

11/II/13 - 25cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB:n/a (2013-159)
Clear dark brown beer, small aery beige head with fine bubbles, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: grassy hops, surprisingly enough, this smells like a pilsener, grains, a bit sweet, hay, stable (which is pretty fitting given the name). MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: sweet and sugary start, more sugar, caramel, hay, bitter hops, grains, more sugar still. Aftertaste: little bitter, lots of sugar, caramel, bit grassy, hay, ersatz chocolate. Man this is really bad stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Bruges. Rated on 16.07.2010
Aroma has oat, some sweetish chocolate and also some harsh notes. Flavour is sweet and feels a bit artficial. It has semi‐dark chocolate, some licorice and cocoa. Nothing much.
