On tap at PreFunk. Light hazy orange,/golden pour. Slight, silky off white head. Light citrus (oranges) aroma, followed by malty, hoppy flavor, short, sharp, bitter finish. Creamy Belgian texture brought to an abrupt end by the dry hopping. Nice.

Tap. Poured hazy yellow with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting and produced good lacing. Moderate yeast, citrus hop aroma. Medium body with a soft texture and soft carbonation. Moderate citrus bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable brew.

2014 75cl bottle. Pours a hazy yellow orange, with large soapy head. A: fruity yeast esters. Citrus is more pronounced than in the regular Hommel. Deep whiff reveals a doughy saison yeast flavor, cauliflower. T: fruity, doughy. Refreshing blend of Belgian Blonde with citrus and exotic fruit notes. Yeast and cheese taste is not as pronounced as with a regular version. Development is bitter, almost IPA bitter.

Tap at Cafe Kandinsky, Tilburg. Dark orange color, tiny white head. Grainy, wet dog aroma. Light-bodied. Strangely thin for abv. Light grassy hoppyness. Light fruity, Belgian yeasty flavors. Meh. I didn’t warmed to the original years ago and this is not much better.

Alengrin (3548) - BELGIUM - JUL 5, 2015
Dry-hopped version of the classic Poperings Hommelbier, with stable, moussy, thick off-white head and clear, pure golden colour. Aroma shows a classic European floral hop aroma in a gentle but nicely fragrant way, with hints of flowers, freshly cut grass, bitter honey, lemon blossom as well as white bread and banana. Fruity taste with banana and red apple peel accents, light bready and honeyish malt backbone, supple and smooth with medium carbonation; long and dry noble hops finish, not harshly bittering, but subtle and aromatic, very floral, bit grassy, well in balance with the fruitiness and the malts. Lovely interpretation of the famous Hommel.
