COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

Coded out by 2-3 months. Pours a cloudy darker gold with a very tall eggshell head that settles to a thinner ring and film, and leaves some spotty lace. Nose is quite interesting and involves floral hop notes, honey, biscuity dough, earth and hay, some touches of spice, some essences of tropical and pit fruit, some toast. Fairly sweet, decently bitter. Medium bodied, somewhat oily, toward syrupy, decent action, finishing toward dry with toasty malt and floral hops. Still drinking pretty grate despite its age, making me wonder how totally amazing it must be fresh. Refreshing yet quite potent.

Golden ale with huge frothy head. Aromas citrus, coriander, spices, belgian yeast. High carbonation and creamy mouthfeel. Medium body. Nice but discrete bitterness.

Veramente ottima.

Robe dorée, légèrement opaque. Saveurs de houblon, herbales et agrumes. Notes de fruits jaunes et d’épices. Longue en bouche. Une bonne bière.

On tap @Buskers Pub (Rome). Pours cloudy golden with a decent white foam. Aroma is malty, fruity, light spiced, bubblegum. Flavour is swet, rough and unbalanced, alcol traces. Medium body, medium carbonation. How boring...

Bottle to pint glass. Spice, orange, lemon and cracker notes. A pils malt aspect to it. Hazy golden orange full white head that contains brown splotches. Taste us grainy with spice from hops and yeast.

Tiny 250ml bottle. Looks great, crisp and clean hop bitterness. A little Belgian spice but not much. A slightly spicey and strong (although you can't taste it) tasty pale ale - perhaps even a pilsnerish beer. I want more than the 250ml. Could sink a lot of these on a hot summers day... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours two fingers of head on a hazy darker straw body. The aroma is just rip apples and pears, then dry grains and lemon. Nice. The taste is spicy at first, then a dull bitter note and finishes grainy. The texture is crisp with a nice fizz. A nice beer.
