COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

Hazy orange with thick but light white head. Aroma is musty yeast y. Taste is light yeast and hops. Distinctive orange taste in the background. Need to try a fresher bottle, but still pretty good.

BOTTLE 33CL from dmcchew. Thanks, Cristian Mihai. Look: amber with lots of yeast sediment, big off-white forthy to creamy head with above average retention. Aroma: sweet fruit, orange, some kind of oriental desert with sweet and spicy nutty notes, crystallized honey, a tad of alcohol, some grainy corn notes too. Taste: sweet corn, spicy phenolic, warming alcohol, low-to-moderate bitterness.

Bottle @ home from Beergusto. Ambrata velata con schiuma bianca abbastanza fine e poco persistente. Aroma fruttato, di pesca, scorza d’arancia, lievito belga, zucchero candito, luppolo erbaceo, gomma. Molto complessa. Gusto secco, amaro, con lievito luppolo erbaceo, un po’ di gomma , uno speziato solo apparente, dovuto alla fermentazione. Molto carbonata, un po’ spigolosa, di corpo medio. Abbastanza armonica, poco calda, molto dissetante.

Drought. Golden yellow with creamy white head, slight honey aroma, low carbonation, honey taste with a sour tang and bitter long finish. The bitter aftertaste and the metalling tang is not very nice.

Golden colour with a creamy white head. The aroma is of yeast, candi sugar and fruits. The taste is of sweet malts, spicy cloves with hoppy floral finish. A well balanced yet beautifully complex beer.

Bottle and wob. Dark gold, light amber. Sweet, yeasty, floral hoppy aroma. Huge amount of sediment floating around. Malty caramel and spicy clove sweetness with a slightly syrupy belgian yeast beginning. CARBONATION is moderately high. Middle leads to a bitter yeast flavor. Finish is cinnamon, yeast m, and lingering herbal/floral hop flavor. Overall malt forward yet moderately bitter strong belgian yeasty ale.

So tasty. Pours with a light airy head and a honey color. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit almost like an IPA. Beautiful flavors of honey on the palate along with citrus, like candied oranges. Very very well balanced beer. Smooth amd full flavored. Love it.

A malty Belgium yeast beer with enough hops to keep my palate satisfied. A fresh tasting summer supping beer that is light with lemons & limes on the tongue. Rated by BrewTom
