COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hommel is the local abbreviation of humulus, from the botanical name for the hop plant. Confusingly, it also means bumble bee in Flemish. Poperings Hommelbier is a hoppy, golden-bronze, ale. It is made from a blend of winter, summer and aromatic pale malts.

A dusty bottle bought at Greenlife Grocery, poured a hazed golden with a big head. Has an aroma of pils malt, saison charcter (barnhouse) oxadation and slight skunky flavor. Metalic taste in there too even though its corked. I think this bottle was treated poorly and was probably not stored properly. Too bad could have been a good beer. Buyers be ware!

Bottle 330ml. Pours golden with medium white head. Some lacing. Aroma is of sugar, malt, belgian yeast, citrus. Taste is of sugar (candiesque), citrus, belgian yeast, bitterness, alcohol. Palate: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Overall: Belgian. Fruity: nice citrus. A good one. I really tough there was some candi sugar in there. Must be a combinaton of yeast (nice features) and kinky hops.

Uma bela surpresa! Que tal uma tripel com dose extra de lúpulos? Malte, álcool e lúpulos bem equilibrados. Gostei!

Great Belgian beer, like a strong ale with hoppy aftertaste, if it wasn’t so watery I would love it

@ Party Town / Florence KY --- Cloudy dirty golden amber with plenty of tiny floaters, long time 1/4" head and a few specks of lace. Taste begins with caramel malt, adds bittering and sour in the palate, along with carbonation that creates a very full mouthfeel. Finish extends the palate into a slowly diminishing end. Well-done, not exceptional.

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2014 At Tolkien’s House, Zagreb. Cloudy golden color with minimal white head. Fruit nose and aroma. Soft carbonation, sweet finish. Classic Belgian Ale.

pours lightly hazy bright straw yellow with a small yet frothy white head, leaving some creamy lacing - some yeast or hops particles. belgian yeast - very spicy and dusty, grassy green and leafy hops - some citrus, slightly woodsy - hint of vanilla, biscuity cracker-like pale maltiness - complex and rustic malt bill, hint of wheat and sulfur, slightly warming. lively and soft carbonation, light body - oily, bittering herbal-grassy-spicy drying finish. uber-quenching for its abv. tasty and good! loved it.
