11.2oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep amber with a fluffy, cream-colored head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel malts, and a good amount of floral hops for a Belgian beer. Flavor the same, with a good balance from the malts. Average texture. A good Belgian ale.

Bottle bought in Dranken Pauwels. Hazy, bubbley amber, medium bubbley white head. Nose is delicious. Toffee, caramel, white sugar, fresh baked meringue, citrousy hop, Belgian Brett yeast. Taste is green leaf hop bitter, with an acidic tingle and some hop chewiness, and a burst of citrous. Strong malt base too with meringue, toffee, burnt sugar, Brett yeast. Plant greenness. Very nice combinations. Sweet sugars, chewy hop bitter, spicy and fruity citrous.

Pours an orange amber with a large white frothy head which soon settles leaving minimal head, the beer is cloudy and looks nice. Taking a smell what initially hits me is honey then citrus, mild vanilla and malt. Taste wise it is similar to how it smells but with a bit of mild bitterness in there from the hops which lingers into the finish. A nice beer indeed!

Not a huge fan of Beligian beers but i thought this was a very good representation. Nice and smooth and not too overpowering. Great on tap but have a feeling bottle might be a little bit carbonated.

Quite light, not as hobby as I was hoping, could drink it all day though, extremely refreshing!

Quite a let down. I transported this one from a shop in Austria and had high expectations. What you get is a slightly sour ale which is mostly devoid of any flavor. Empty is the word that would best describe this ’hopped’ beer. No citrus, no floral bitter notes that would even hint at the intention of hoppy flavor. Waste of time!

Surprised to find I’d never written about this before.
25cl Bottle: BBD 05/2015, poured @ home into my huge Judas glass on 5th 12 2013 during a Belgian tasting evening I had with myself!
Slight haze to the golden body, large white head.
it’s hoppy in aroma and taste, but it’s all subtle stuff compared to the ’new wave’ of Belgian hoppy brews. This is an old friend who isn’t going to let you down or upset you.
A true Belgian classic with very few beers like it anywhere in the world. High in alcohol for it’s body depth maybe, but it still manages to hide the fact it sits at 7.5% ABV.

Donkerblond, helder maar met veel bezinksel in de 75cl fles. Heerlijk hoparoma en sterke hopbitter. Typisch Belgische hop.

Refreshing beer from the West Flanders region of Belguim which has a strong hop growing tradition. This beer can vary from subtle vanilla overtones to dry bitterness. Golden in colour, good white foamy head, not too carbonated and a smooth texture. Under the hop base lurks a complex blend of grain, malt, vanilla and a little balancing sweetness.
