Was once sold as "Poppelmans Brown Ale Vinterutgåva" but is now only named "Poppels Brown Ale".

Bottle tasted. An amazing first effort by the newly started Swedish Poppelman brewery. It has almost everything a Brown Ale should have - neither more, neither less. Extremely satisfying even if a Brown Ale isn’t my first choice. I’m looking forward to future releases from Poppelmans!

Almost black with reddish brown rim, two fingers of head. Crisp bread (husmansknäcke), puffed outmeal, dark roasted maltiness and some minerals on the nose. On the lighter side on the palate, refreshing with a slightly roasty acidity. Light bitterness. Dry and fresh with decent finish.

Coffee beans, nuts and roasted malt in the aroma. Yum! A little thin taste of the roasted malt. Perhaps watering taste. Would have liked to have it more powerful. The aftertaste disappears quickly but there is little left on top of the tongue. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
