COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Originally only a single batch was made named "Poppels Projekt 001 Dubbel IPA".
By popular demand and winning "Best Swedish Beer 2013" by members vote at BeerSweden was decided to continue in production, though with the same recipe as the project beer.

New batch was released March 1, 2014, at Systembolaget under the (website) name "Poppels Dubbel IPA (nr 88888)".

Dark golden glowing. Thick orange marmelade, resin like sweetness, light caramel, full bodied and good (but certainly not dominating) hop mix. Yummy. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Medelbeska. Härlig maltsötma.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and sweetish aroma, light - some caramel and light tropical fruitiness with some grapefruit - citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - piney hoppyness, light alcohol. Finish is averag, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and faint fruitiness, some citrus - light grapefruit hoppyness, light - some alcohol. Too much alcohol in the finish. Could use more fruitiness tho balance the alcohol. OK but really nothing special.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy gold - amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is airy, midly dry, modest fine carbonation. Light malts, a mild sweetness. Tangy citrus and pine. Good hop spice and a little resin. Whisper of tropical fruits. Light semi dry finish. Spicy hop linger. A touch on the sweet side but otherwise solid.

Bottle.
Hazy amber with a big frothy off white head. Nice! Aroma has lots of pineapple and passion fruit, some caramel malt in the background. Taste is pretty heavy malt wise, again pineapple and passion fruit followed by grapefruit bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, round yet dry mouth feel. Dry, long bitter lingering after taste.
A bit too sweet perhaps. Well balanced, as is the intention. I do prefer my DIPA with more hop bite though.
